No matter what program, being able to rotate the view around a face etc is so incredibly helpful I would recommend it to anyone. When learning how to draw the head I can just look how certain curves and shapes look from the exact perspective I’m drawing. I’m always a bit worried if what I’m practicing is actually accurate or just seems to look right in that moment, and a 3d view helps a lot.
@PolyPaint3 ай бұрын
Totally agree! Sculpting is another way to learn shapes. It forces to think about physical shape not being loose like you can do in 2d.

that is why life drawing and sculpting was still the important skill for artists even after the camera got mainstream. without practicing poly modelling i couldn't draw from imagination or being able to animate head turns

Been trying to get a good workflow for creating a 2d/3d animation and each time I think has fallen short mostly to do with my lack of skill as an artist. This will for sure help me understand form and shading a lot better in perspective! Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for making this. I'll have to give grease pencil a decent shot again since I'm returning to Blender now from a few years' break. I admit I hardly touched it since its introduction. Also not too long, not too short, informative and good enunciation. Subbed.

Any tips for a bloody beginner? Do you recommend any books?:)
@PolyPaint3 ай бұрын
Depends on your goals. I started with fundamentals and tried to follow art-school program. Then just started doing my own drawings and analyze what's missing and looked for tat info. Now, you can easily learn the same from KZbin. There are lots of cool and respected artists on this platform. You can check couple books tho: Scott Robertson "How to Draw" , TB Choi book about characters, [LEZHIN] Point Character Drawing by Taco and books by Marcos Mateu-Mestre. but again, there are lots of cool videos that cover the same topics.

I am so shook by your set up but I have been trying to figure out how you do the first thing? Setting up the image as an image plan so on so forth and changing your view, is there anyway you can do a slower version or maybe write out step by step?
@PolyPaintАй бұрын
The image planes are now moved to Add-Image-Image as planes on the top panel. And you dont have to add any addons for that starting from blender 4.2. To change view I'm using shortcuts. in my case its F1-F4 but im using industry standard shortcuts, may be different for default keymap.

@PolyPaint2 ай бұрын
You can get some free stuff on Sketchfab or other 3d platforms. Or you can buy some 3d scans if you wish.
@THUNGUNS3 ай бұрын
This seems like a cheat code for getting good fast haha. Would you recommend a minimum art skill level down before using this method? (would it be more ideal if the artist studied perspective fundamentals, skeleton before using this process?
@PolyPaint3 ай бұрын
That would definitely help. I would recommend that in any case. You can still learn fundamentals within blender. Instead of models , you can have some primitives to study. You can always mix doing both, study some primitives and then apply it to simplified human model to see them in action

Could you do something similar in Clips studio paint. Mostly the part of dropping assets in the canvas and just drawing what you see.
@PolyPaint3 ай бұрын
@Imagine_IE idk how good the 3d engine Is there. Blender is pretty fast and flexible, but yeah, photoshop also can do 3d but it’s not really user-friendly 😅. Don’t own CSP and never used it tho.
@ypotryll3 ай бұрын
I use it regularly, but by comparison Clip Studio Paint is way more unwieldy controls-wise for their 3D features (might be biased since I started with Blender before CSP and being used to those controls already). Ultimately for me Blender is best for dedicated studies as described in the video while CSP is best for being in the middle of a detailed project and troubleshooting a difficult pose.

Hey. Should work the same way! The only difference they made from 4.2 version is the to add an image plane, you should go Add - Image - Images as planes from the top menu. Everything else remained the same from what i know. Could you specify what didn't work in your case?

А можно пожалуйста гайд на кисти, а то я до сих пор не знаю как пользоваться мягкой кистю чтобы цвет не наслаивался пока я ею крашу
@PolyPaint4 ай бұрын
@titaniumwhitepeach72084 ай бұрын
@PolyPaint3 ай бұрын
Я для растровой графики использую Криту. Тоже бесплатная программа и для рисования ничем не уступает фотошопу. В CSP, на сколько я знаю, есть некоторые фичи, которых нет в фотошопе или Крите.
