Things I relied on before I got comfortable on camera: >Do a readthrough aloud of your script or notes first >Power stances! Standing in Wonder Woman mode for a minute or two before shooting (studies show 'power stances' relax you and can help your confidence) >Warm up by singing. I like to pick an upbeat song I ENJOY singing, and one that makes me feel like a bit of a badass. I also like to sing along to something while I'm taking thumbnail photos.
@RoseRamblesYT8 жыл бұрын
I definitely do the first and third tips you mentioned. Listening to upbeat music definitely helps put me in a spritely mood, which translates on camera. Editing is great too in the end. I still have a lot of "um's" and "so's" which I take out to help keep the flow. Practice, practice, eh? =)

It's weird, I know these things but whenever the camera turns on, I turn into an exaggerated version of myself. I hate that....I guess I feel like if I talked like myself that I would bore people to death. I get bored watching my videos. Creating good content is hard!

Its people man, just filter feedback. I use this trick, if close friends comment harsh on a video, then you did really good. If the person is nice, that's the sign to improve.
@lifecraft12015 жыл бұрын
I found that the best way is to just practice talking in front of the camera and allow yourself complete freedom to play and experiment without holding anything back. I see too many people trying to conform to some type of ideal or copy some "confident people". I believe a better approach is to embrace your unique personality and get in touch with your natural, authentic way of expressing yourself. This will give you a solid foundation for enjoying creating all future videos and keep developing skills that will grow you as a person in all areas of life, no matter how successful you channel becomes.

I’ve just started vlogging, and it’s way more difficult than it looks lol. The main thing I learnt was to “be myself”. Not have too many expectations of how I look or sound or whether people will like me. Once I got to grips with that, I really enjoy it!
@user-fl1hu1op5u5 жыл бұрын
1. Play: play around on camera and watch it back and pay attention to what works and doesn’t work. Show it to friends and family for additional feedback 2. Personalize: practice talking in front of a picture of someone who you feel comfortable taking to. Pace: slow down your words 3. Excitement: show how excited you are 4. Pretend: don’t copy, but think about what u like about ur favorite character or youtuber and see how you can incorporate it into your own videos 5. Passion: truly love what you are talking about 6. Pressure: remind your self that it is ok to make mistakes 7.Practice: just keep practicing! It helps!

Sunny those are amazing tips for getting comfortable on camera! One of the things that I did, especially in the beginning, to get comfortable on camera was to pretend that I am sitting across from my best friend. We are having coffee and I am just sharing my passion with my best friend. I noticed that the videos became much more personal, that I wasn't talking to a whole Auditorium of people like a robot, like you mentioned in your video, but I was being a person that they could be connected to, could be related to, and I was honestly, truly trying to help my best friend with whatever the topic was to help them the most. So very similar to your idea of personalizing it by putting a picture of somebody that you relate to on your camera, I just visualize as if I was having a sit-down coffee with my best friend and telling them whatever it was that I was sharing with them to keep things personal and friendly. Hope that helps. big big hugs🤗💖🥰

Love love love this!! I feel like I'm getting more comfortable with each video I make! Your tips are so helpful. One thing I do to make myself more comfortable is to tape up a piece of paper on the tripod that has key words or ideas that I really want to make sure I cover in my video. But I don't want to memorize a 'script' so I make sure it's natural conversation with the audience but with that piece of paper I feel more comfortable because I know I'm not going to forget anything.

Hi Sunny, I loved this video. I am just about to start out on KZbin but used to work as a local DJ and when doing hospital radio one tip I used was to place a teddy bear behind the mic and talk and joke with it, this helped give the impression for each person listening that I was talking just to them. I have tried to use a photo of someone but found that I was talking to that person only (the photo was of a girl I knew, well no surprise there then) and tended to talk to her but not all listeners were female so the bear worked a lot better for me.Keep up with these great vids as I like them so much.

great video as always. being on camera can freak a lot of people out. i have the gift for gab and i love to teach, so that comes through. don't worry that hundreds of people will see you....they aren't in the room with you while recording, so they really aren't there. be yourself! don't copy! you'll be amazed at the results. i never script anything. i have a topic idea and i just go off on it, one take, precise. i'm good like that...hehe. comes naturally for me and after all the years of working in video and photo and music.
