I haven’t had any issues with the sponge, I grease my scalp and put in an Aloe Vera oil in my hair then use Cantu shine pudding. End results are shiny hard Bantu looking knots last for 2wks with constant water spray.

His info about the curl sponge isn’t completely true. The point of the curl sponge is to TRAIN hair to be curly, not necessarily for styling. Some people who already have curly hair can use a curl sponge for styling, but for people with 4C hair, the sponge can be used to train your hair while it’s short. When it gets longer, the curl sponge for 4C people will start to twist and not curl. So he’s right that the curl sponge twists. But guess what? Twists are curls!!! Just in bigger clumps of hair. Dude completely ignored that he used the curl sponge first when his hair was shorter, training his hair to be curly, and that probably had something to do with these methods of his working in the first place. Also, the whole point about the sponge dehydrating your hair may be true, but here’s a simple solution. Keep it moisturized 😂 Instead of saying the curl sponge is a problem, he should have just left it at demoisturized hair is the problem.

Xpert Killa Picking your hair only really breaks it if it’s dry and you start from the roots. That’s what I learned anyways (via Youtubing the past 30 min through an hour). You’re supposed to start from the tips of your hair and slowly work your way down when picking so it doesn’t cause breakage.
