CAN IT BE GROWN INDOORS THROUGH THE WINTER? DON'T GET WHERE YOU SAY AND ENDLESS SUPPLY IF IT CAN'T BE GROWN IN THE WINTER. POSSIBLY YOU'RE IN A CLIMATE THAT STAYS WARM ALL YEAR? DO YOU DRY THE CELERY LEAVES? IF SO, HOW. ALSO THE STALKS ARE THIN, WHY? THANKS

It's far far more flavorful than store bought. I do have a hard time getting it sprouted, then a hard time getting it to size where it'll hold some peanutbutter. 😂

Wrap the stalks with a paper bag or something that blocks out light. Continue to cover just the stalks as they grow. That's how to get tender, pale stalks. Dehydrate the leaves and use them in cooking for a great celery taste as well.

The reason celery is healthy is from chlorophyll. It only gets chlorophyll from the sun shining on it, not thru a paperbag. Also, Vit D (a hormone) deficiency causes mental illness. Theres many with mental illness & instead of giving them Vit D, they give them antipsychotics. The Sun is GOOD.
@susanflohr8529
@susanflohr8529 Жыл бұрын
Is that to protect the celery once it becomes hot outside?
@janiekaye8317
@janiekaye8317 Жыл бұрын
It's to keep the stems away from the sun so they can't use the chlorophyll to turn green. This makes the stalks more tender. You definitely don't want to block light from the leaves as it needs the chlorophyll to feed the plant.

As a vegan I use it in most soups salads, and wraps. We’ll most everything and it difficult to find good celery now days. I’m learning to grow more things in my garden. My soil isn’t much and needs building up. Sandy drain off swampland isn’t loamy at all. I like how you filled in the hole with the good stuff that’s doable.

Thanks for sharing. I had such a hard time growing celery. Your celery is so green and healthy looking too. I am going to try your suggestions. I like to put a spread on my celery such as cream cheese, humus, peanut butter, and Bitchin Sauce. Thanks.
