Great video, thanks a ton. My wife and I just got a Mach-E 10 days ago and I’ve been trying to wrap my head around this convoluted update system. We just got our first and only update a few days ago, which started rolling out in February based on the forums. I’m going to try out all your tips and hopefully get this car caught up to speed.

@@erorr4o4 I got 24-pu0102-svd-fx on April 16th and not a single one since then. It’s not a huge deal but there are some updates I’d like to have, especially the tailgate not opening all the way glitch.

great video! last update I've had on my '22 CA Route One was in November, now three months ago. Stuck on BlueCruise 1.0 right now.

Good video , Thanks. One thing I question is the value of turning off wi-fi. My wi-fi has been on for months and have not had any problems getting OTA updates or failed updates.

Appreciate it! Well I haven’t seen any updates download on WiFi so if you are leaving car on at home like I did I would want the mobile connection to be active to receive updates. Only reason to turn WiFi on is if you have no mobile signal at home.

I guess I get both wifi and modem connectivity, get updates at home via wifi and a few while out driving. Wonder why I get updates while out driving since I have them scheduled for 1:am? Got the Tesla update recently when I parked for lunch away from home.

@@anonymous971 Interesting you get updates over WiFi. The schedule is just to install the update not download it.

That makes sense since it always asks if I want to install now or later. For the wifi/modem connectivity my guess is Ford checks wifi first and if not available connects via modem so even if the wifi switch is on and they can't make a connection they can still connect via modem. An example would be when you are out driving. @@CarGuy11

The install schedule is only for the updates that require downtime.

This technique does not work on my 21 Mach-E. 12V battery is at 100% but I never get off of the "Checking for Updates" screen. I have left the 12V battery on the trickle charger overnight to maintain 100% charge but still nothing.

If you have good AT&T signal it should show. I’d call the OTA hotline number in description to have them check.

I wonder if anyone has tested to see if starting the cabin preconditioning daily for 30+ minutes counts as having the car “on” for update purposes and 12v charging

I don’t believe so because the sync screen isn’t on during precondition & remote start to be able to check for updates. It should be charging 12V during that tho.

In my 2021 Mach-E there is no vehicle connectivity toggle to turn on. There are no up-down arrows at the top of the screen. Touching Connectivity in the left panel brings up Connected Vehicle Features, but touching Connected Vehicle Features only brings up a "Please Wait" button which turns itself off in 4 seconds. Then I am back to the Connected Vehicle Features, and stuck in an endless loop. I suspect I have an unrepairable main computer and I am close to asking for a Ford buyback. 4 weeks at the dealer and this problem could not be fixed. I would definitely avoid buying a 21 model.

Greetings, I need help, I bought a Mach E in January 2024 but the car was a 2022 brand new and until today I have not received any OTA update and I am stuck in the factory one. I visited two dealers and they told me that everything is fine and They did not want to help me by doing the updates manually, what could I do in this situation?

Hi there! Im looking to get a used one. Do you recommend only getting 2022 or later? Since the major update was because of the 2021 issues?

There are more recalls on the early cars yes but all are ok if they have been completed.

Stay away from 2021 models, they are only good for boat anchors. I don't know about 2022 or 2023 models.

I got my new 23 Mustang Mach-e GT on 4/29. I dont seem to be getting any kind of updates and the dealers say there is nothing. Can you help

Any Ford dealer should be able to update.

Good video I don’t have the bars on top of the screen that you call AT&T. I think I do when my phone is connected but I have Verizon Does that matter?

No that is the cars modem bars which are on AT&T network. You may not be on a later version of Sync that includes them. Thanks for watching!

Has nothing to do with it being an EV, has everything to do with Ford being new to this tech lol. Strangely enough, they are the best of legacy auto at this, but they have a long way to go. You never have these kinds of issues getting updates for your PC or phone from Microsoft, Google, or Apple right?

@bob-qi4nr your computer literally forces the update after delaying long enough, and no, they largely solve issues lol. Unless you're still running an old insecure version of win7 or XP out of defiance for modern technology, in which case I don't want to be your bank or credit card company.
