Just to clarify, regarding the birds, they’ll be one at a time on each zone, mine went landing, blooming, impasse, landing, blooming, impasse. On the second set is when the bird choices show up. Micah will give you the alone in the dark quests one at a time, you’ll find the ghost in the lost sector, open 6 overthrow chests (the event ones, not random) then run the cysts quests (birds) find the junk, return to Micah, rinse and repeat 6x. It’s a long process but tag the quests and you’ll be walked through it. Just don’t forget to look for the piles of junk. More #8 is the aerial ace route

​@KemAlladin There is a now known glitch if you get the Servator taken "meatball looking dude as your last kill , he will drop the exotic mote but when you pick it up it will delete all 8 of your normal motes (which you can't go back and farm) so you will locked out of getting the gun until they fix it. So , if you have the 8 regular motes and no exotic you better be careful lol. Stay away from the blossom , impretty sure that's the inky place meatball can spawn. On the other hand what happened to me is I got all 8 regular motes and I GOT THE TRIUMPHS FOR BEATEING ALL THE PALE HEART BOSSES and was like "hm, I guess that it's a random drop". Nah, it's not.I beat all the bosses from Blossom first, so when I went back through the rotation I was already screwed. The boss that was suppose to drop it for me apparently didn't and when that happens it defaults to meatball. So if you have the 8 just wait for the fix, but , I guess your screwed either way in that case.......

Like others are saying, there is a known bug. Looks like they have to fix it. I have the triumphs, all bosses killed, but only 16 motes. Can't get another or finish until they patch it.

And every fucking time it spawns the fucking meatball. I’m at a loss, this quest is already fucking shit wasting everyone’s time. But the amount of bugs is unacceptable for a studio as big as bungie. Is the 17th mote supposed to be the primordial mote? Because I stashed 16 legendary motes into the vault and hunted the servitor. He dropped it, but the loot drop origin point clipped it into the tree when it died. So now I have 16 motes and 1 primordial. All Traveler statues are complete, but the chest still says I lack something. I think I did this whole thing backwards.

@@AlexRodriguez-tp9zx I actually did. We need to do every step on the Alone in the dark quest. They all will bring us to the correct birds. It seems Bungie’s somehow managed to link the quests together or it’s a really weird glitch

So i looked it up, ended up here and have a question: I got all chests, all encryptions and the legendary kvostov. I have the triumphs for all overthrow bosses. All travellers are set up. Just a heads up for everyone on 16, the meatball boss was removed from rotation due to the bug, so you'll have to wait until a fix is deployed to finish the quest. Edit He’s back!

Guys if yours is the meatball last. Kill in the mote will spawn inside the tree in the middle of the room looking in the cave jump up on the top right branches and it should drop in your inventory

I got lucky, One of the first things I did after the campaign was farm overthrows so I got the 9 motes I needed pretty quick (Didnt get hit with no bugs either). So I had 9 motes of light ready to go before I even started my Khvostov hunt. Thanks dude and props to being one of the 1st to have a full guide for this exotic. Time to go ricochet shooting!

So I’ve noticed that everytime that I complete a level 4 overthrow I kill more than one boss in the triumph, so I’m just thinking that it doesn’t have to be lvl 4 over and over. I done each overthrow fully and get the 1/1, 1/2, and 1/3 in the triumph list
