I started as a HR Assistant, it didn't require a lot of experience. Once I got in I would volunteer to work on different projects so I could gain more skills & experience.

Most of my career has been with companies that were just starting up and so among the many hats I wore, I regularly helped them staff up by recruiting people I knew or finding qualified candidates. That said, those roles were not specifically "HR" roles, instead they were "Office Manager" roles. Presently I am looking to switch career paths entirely and move into the realm of HR, ideally within a civic organization. So I've had to emphasize my past experience within those roles and hopefully that, combined with an HR Certificate that I am considering, will get me started. Your vides have also been educational and helpful. Thank you.

I have a call center and long term sub teaching background and a degree in Communication. I want to get into recruiting. I have been applying for recruiting coordinator positions and entry level recruiting positions but I'm not getting call backs.
