In the most recent push for Chiron sub-6 the meta was generally tidal dash start and flurry shot or twin shot with people mostly ignoring the special. Even though those runs were about the same speed (6:1x at best) as earlier special-focused runs, it definitely felt like they were more reliable in terms of getting anything going.

@ARZiehm yeah but in speedrunning, chiron is a constraint, like a caregory of run, rather than a chosen boon. So the challenge is "go as fast as you can with chiron" and figuring out the best build and skills for that constraint. So it's not about choosing the best aspect to go fast

At the start of Elysium you were talking about a discussion about how a new player would beat 32 heat for the first time. I can tell you because I did that just last night! I used Demeter fists, started with Athena dash and got a bit lucky by getting Artemis on special, Zeus on Attack and I got the Charged Shot as my first hammer. My advice to a new player is pick your favourite weapon aspect that you are happy with most gods on because it can work with both flat damage like Zeus/Dio, AND big multipliers like Aphro or Artemis. That way you get to start with Athena dash for extra safety without screwing your run because oh my god high heat HURTS. Finally, what got me over the line was turning down Forced Overtime from 2 to 1, I was assuming I needed it on max to get the heat number that high, but really it's better to get that heat from enemy damage instead and be able to dodge their stuff more consistently.

Love Chiron, probably my favorite aspect overall. Making use of the special just feels so good and intuitive for me, I'm excited to see what I learn here :D

I thing piercing volley is good if you happen to have dio or ares on special, because you can practically catch a whole room of enemies in one shot with chiron by positioning enemies between you and your target

Having to position the enemies and yourself right is just not very useful imo, enemies move too much

Piercing doesn’t get as much damage as other hammer options for bossing, and the weapon really needs a bunch of help on that front as well.

Going for Chiron sub6 I’ve actually been pretty fond of dio special because its decent damage without having to actually press the button that often. It’s also more flat damage for the soup. That being said basically any purple special is good enough, the goal is just to cobble something together and then skip the game

My usual setup for Chiron is Artemis on the special and aphro on the attack in hopes of getting heart rend, but i'll def try this one out!

I just beat 32 heat for the first time using Dionysis Chiron. Took over 20 minutes even using 5 minute tight deadline since Tartarus took too long, but beat EM4 down to the wire. Only 2nd try too.

@@yatishyanamala2294 Chiron is one of the few aspects where that actually kind of makes sense. It's an aspect that has very solid single target damage while struggling to quickly clean rooms. That's 4 heat you can take away from other parts of the pact without it hurting the run as much as it would on some other aspects.

I think if you see another free room like bouldy or shop you take it over chaos. Maybe not if chaos has great synergy potential with your build, like cast builds.

Depending on the weapon, early tart chaos can definitely lose time. For fists especially, which don’t get much scaling from chaos, you can justify skipping early chaos. You also might skip chaos if you see a natural Athena in tart going for ME builds

As others already said, you almost always take Chaos as long as it means skipping combat.

If you focus on Chiron attack, would it feel pretty similar to Hera? Or would you focus on cast damage with Hera vs Attack damage with Chriron?

20:50, No good way to utilize it you say! Hades' pots deal damage to himself if he breaks them when within thein AoE. With three Stygian Shards he takes 6480 damage from one of them!

if this is what a decent speedrun looks like I might be better than I thought. I pretty regularly get sub-10 with Rama, and semi-regularly get sub-9. I've gotten sub-8 once, and I've been unable to replicate it after another approx hundred attempts

I was thinking why we don't see more Rama (Zeus special) speed runners too. It's crazy fast and combined with Tidal Dash for crowd control you're pretty much set.

Why did you want both the duo and changing the special ... How would the duo be helpfull then ?

changing the special would be great as well. since artemis probably better in speedruns but i am not sure now because dio special also did huge damage. but if it not change, duo would be better. that's what he means not doing both of things.
