Very helpful. I followed the lesson with an open project stereo mix file and infinity improved the end result...learned a lot. The genre of my file was rock, so for anyone moaning about the demo track not being relevant ...open one of your songs regardless of genre and try out the suggestions.... it's not genre specific or big studio v home studio .... it just works. Similarly, comments on not noticing the difference the guy did say he was making subtle changes...i used the same suggestions without the subtlety and wow...big difference and really added value. Did forget to unmute a couple of plugs at the end of the lesson...but again...I chose not to forget this and all of the info suggested works.

Love Izotope. Do agree with earlier comment, that all plug in/music hardware companies use tracks that sound already straight out of Abbey Road. There’s a coherence that we all know, by now, is kept just out of arms reach from the bedroom producer until the next product comes out promising the magic. It’s improving very slowly, agreed and, so are we I guess. I doubt this track was one guy working on his own. It’s so easy to tickle an already great mix. Sure we can all make most recordings sound 2% better with a bit of mid-side boosting. Then after a few minutes add a bit more until we take it all off and try another plugin when the effect thrill wears off. It’s no easy task trying to be and do everything in isolation, maybe that’s the missing link. The Beatles were better together than apart 98% of the time x

Nice. I use Ozone in my mastering chain but im usually using it with its analyzation and adjustment features. I then adjust that to taste. This is a very specific case use for a nice mastering polish. Im definitely going to give this a try. I don’t use ozones saturation but am usually using Plugin alliances black box saturation on mid / side before my instance of ozone.

Very simple and helpful! I only have one question why didn't straight add 1 dB bust other than set 1.1 offset, then bust 2 dB? Is it different? Thanks so much. I Hope iZotope shows more tutorials.

I am thinking why He didnt activate all these moduls in Ozone. Why He left bypased Dynamic eq and Exciter at the end? Strange video.

Why is the dynamic EQ and Exciter switched off at the end when you do the final reveal? only the last 2 plug ins are activated.

I use this plugin everyday and love it. But this kinda didn't do it for me , made the vocals weaker and the whole mix even more washed out in a bad way.But i do appreciate other opinions and taste of things

Quite apart from the professionalism of this track: This video shows very clearly and for an "amateur" comprehensible how you can work with some of the numerous Ozone 9 modules in this case. Steroize is to make mono signal stereo.If signal is already stereo "stereoize" should remain unpressed..

I agree. I hear (on my mid priced headphones) a lot of harshness in the high frequencies from drums and/ or percussion, and the dynamic EQ has accentuated these to my ears. The kick is somewhat louder at 60 Hz, but is still lacking punch. The mids (including the vocals) are pushed back. I'm sure these techniques have their use in mastering, but I'm not sure about this mix. Sorry.

@@evertschut Didn't add any value for me either. Normally great fan of iZotope. Use it as my go to tools! But this one... mwao not convinced. Track sounded pretty good at the start. Except for the kick punch. Lot of tweaking without the desired effect.

I agree with comment that the music already sounds spectacular to a bedroom producer such as myself so this video essentially isn’t useful to me because I can’t even get the pre-mix sound so I’m already discouraged to watch the video further. I would understand though if the videos such as these are targeted for a expert level or professional musician who are looking to further improve their tracks but for me, a bedroom producer, I would rather prefer a song that sounds amateur and can be levelled up from there. Just my humble opinion.

Plugins will not fix a bad recording. As someone once said the first thing is to “get it right at the source.” (GIRATS) It’s very possible to make great music in a bedroom.

Is it only me but is it becoming tiresome and a bit like a conflict for the video host to promote his own music and vocals through iZotope? It feels a bit off key, from a professional and branding POV.
