When you get the residence permit or residence permit card from the migration office to enter in Finland, you might think that this is the main document or card for all official processing in Finland.
Although this card is very important because it provides you permission to live in Finland on basis of your work, family or whatever.
*However, please remember residence card itself will not allow you to open a bank account with net banking. Yes, some banks may open your bank account, but they will not provide access to internet banking.
*Residence card itself will not allow you to use a mobile certificate or strong identification with a mobile. Although your employer may provide you postpaid connection, you cannot use mobile certificate.
*So eventually, if you need to sign in or access all government organizations in Finland such as health care, day care etc. you can’t without having internet banking or a mobile certificate.
*Moreover, If you go to hospitals, private shops, or wherever identification is required, your residence card will not work.

Do not confuse between Finnish ID card or your personal ID. Please remember that the personal Id code printed on your residence card is really your personal Id or we can say social security number. The Finnish ID card will also contain the same personal id code. Because this is the unique id code and will not change. However, you will get a new card that is different from the residence card.
