As someone who is planning to come to Gdansk, I have learned the significance of those color lines (Blue n Yellow). Thank you.

Sorry. I forgot to mention that you can buy tickets with the Jakdojade app now. That's how I did it last time I went to Poland.

Great video Mark! Quick question, to get to the airport from old town, do I take the same 210 bus in Dworzec Glowny?
@MarksWorldOfAdventure11 ай бұрын
Yes. There's a row of bus stops outside the station (on the other side of the road from where I'm standing at the end of this video). You want the end stop (far left, if you look at it from the other side of the road). You can take the Port Lotniczy 210 or the night bus N3, which runs every hour during the night. If you're trying to access this bus stop from the side where I'm at at the end of this video, you need to go through the underpass that runs under the road and the station. Take the stairs exit in the middle of the underpass. If you walk the full length of the underpass, you end up behind the train station and outside the bus station instead. I got really confused with this last time I was there, ha ha. One more thing, definitely use Jakdojade on your phone. It makes using public transport in Poland so much easier

Hi. I will be coming to Gdansk this October. It’s my first time travelling alone. I’ll be 17 at the time of travel with my friend is there anything we need to be aware of. We will be bringing a 10kg suitcase as well as some hand luggage, do we have to pay extra for this on the bus?
@MarksWorldOfAdventure Жыл бұрын
You won't be alone if you're with your friend will you? Why bring suitcases? A 10kg carry on backpack is easier to move around with. Personally, unless I need to take camping equipment, I only ever take one carry on backpack. Why burden yourself with more stuff to carry around? Main thing I would say, download the Jakdojade app onto your phone. It helps you navigate around the city and pay for transport in the app. If a local on the street asks if you want to visit a bar they are promoting, don't go. It's most likely they are gonna spike and rob you. This happens a lot in strip clubs. Are you staying in Gdańsk or visiting other cities? You can get to Sopot and Gdynia on the SKM trains. It's like a metro line. Or you can get a train to Warsaw from the main station. Takes about 2 hrs 45 mins

@@MarksWorldOfAdventure first time travelling without my parents I mean. And I’m coming from the UK to Gdansk for 4 days we need luggage. Thanks for those tips, we wouldn’t be going in strip clubs anyway. And yes we want to go to Reda Aqua Park in Gdynia
@MarksWorldOfAdventure Жыл бұрын
@tango5074 4 days? Man, how much luggage do you need for that? I did a 19 day trip in February. I just took my 10kg carry on backpack. Travel light, man. Forget this packing stuff incase you need it philosophy

Oh yeah. Don't cross the street on red, even if the road's empty of cars. If the police see you, they can fine you for jaywalking.

Alright Mark. I've had a couple of trips to Poland this year (Poznan and Wroclaw) and I'll be going to Gdansk next month. A quick question if that's okay. The stop you got off in this video will be walking distance to my hotel, but was that the last stop of the bus journey to the old town? Hope that makes sense. I just don't want to end up staying on the bus and getting off at the wrong stop. Thanks in advance 👍
@MarksWorldOfAdventure Жыл бұрын
No. The bus continues on towards Osowa district, so you should get off at Dworzec Główny (Main Station). If you use the Jakojade app, it will tell you where you are in real time. You can buy the bus ticket on the app rather than using the machine.

Very much appreciated for the info, Mark. Poland in an incredible country, I just wished it hadn't taken me so long to realise. I've subbed to your channel BTW 👍 enjoy the rest of your evening.

Where are you thinking of hitting up in Gdansk? For nightlife and street food, I recommend the shipyards - 100cznia and Ulica Electrikow. Zaspa district is good for street art and has a couple of good restaurants. Kocham Pierogi for the best polish dumplings and Falla for the best vegan food. I'm not even vegan, but the humus platter was something else.
