Buying tickets for the metro in Sofia is even easier if you use your bank card. Just tap it at the turnstile you want to pass through and that's it. And if you travel more than twice in a day, there is a cap on the daily cost at 4 BGN, i.e. you won't be charged anything more, despite how much you use the city public transportation, as long as you use the same card all day.
