On the Badge thing: Kara originally did NOT give you badges. That was only introduced in 2.3 So it is likely that during P1: Kara WONT give you badges.

I started in a guild that was formed after TBC. Most of us did not come with ANY gear from vanilla and we got to be the 2nd best in the server in 6 months. You don't and won't need anything from vanilla to succeed in TBC. Will it make faster, easier? I dunno, didn't make a difference to me.

I just don't get all this emphasis on 'needing' to check your bis list. You really don't need to worry about that crap at all, and there are multiple options at 70 for other good pieces (including trinkets) if you happen to not pick the right quest reward for pre raid bis. By all means, do what you want, but it isn't that big a deal in BC what so ever for any spec; not like it was in vanilla anyway.

Yea... 1 week if you are playing 20 hours a day. That is the minority... and frankly, he is assuming you have some crazy good RNG and/or elite group set up to assist you with such endeavors. Most people will not. But hey... sadly most people raiding in classic are extreme no lifers. Casual raiding guilds are extremely rare now.

Proc is equal to 1 application of sunder at lvl 70iirc, and thunderclap is usable in prot stance 🤷🏼‍♂️

@@Gilfy91 Fairly certain the proc threat is roughly the same as a level 60 sunder application. It's not a bad sword, but I'd take a higher dps weapon over it from my beta experience.
