I agree! Gamestop will try and sale you a "brand new" game that has been opened by one of their employees. I got really upset last black friday when I ordered Crackdown 3 for like $12.00 but when I picked it up guess what it was a opened new copy! Luckily 2 or 3 days later Target marked it down around that same price so I finally got me a brand new sealed copy of Crackdown 3. I don't order online from Gamestop anymore and I always ask do you have this game "brand new" sealed when I purchase any new games from the store.
@mistersociety29753 жыл бұрын

I know many have commented on getting banned for trading in so many of the same game at GameStop but I wanted to post this to clarify. The general consensus is you can trade in up to 4 copies of the same game in a rolling 30-day window. There's also a dollar limit on trades that can get you flagged as well. I had a 90-day ban last year for trading in one-too-many copies of wii sports :( Another thing to be aware of, very often on the last friday of the month they'll have a stealth bump in values. They will not advertise the bump in trade values so you have to check to be sure but that's probably why Rick had that decrease on Black Ops II the day before - that stealth bump window is only good from Friday to Sunday usually.

@richardwilson15833 жыл бұрын
Not sure if any one has mentioned it but 1. Gamestop has a limit of the same game getting traded in 4 times in a rolling 30 days. After that you'd get a traded ban. 2. If you trade games in and pre order certain games (usually the big ones coming out) you'll get a trade boost of 10% extra. Usually I'll put $5 toward the game, take the rest in trade credit on my card and then keep doing that each time I bring in some trades. Sometimes I'll keep the game, sometimes I'll move the credit toward something else I want.

If they don't then thats not great, but thats the policy. So, you saw it and decided to take it anyways, so don't complain about it. Free will brother.

Retro Rick yeah thanks I had a lot of rare games and he downplayed it and I told him I can wait for him for a better time and day and I had a meeting I had to go to. He clearly didn’t state his price and now I over paid him and lose a lot of my games and at that point I would think about quitting video games and only go digital because it was too stressful. He was asking for more games if I had any and I said no I would not trade anymore since I felt rip-off and rushed. Just don’t like to rush things and trying to make a good deal for both of us but it felt extremely one sided since he was in a different state

You are one smart man Retro Rick! Sorry for posting three times like this but you are absolutely doing the right thing by holding onto these cases and manuals because they really do sell for a decent amount. I recently came across Pokemon SoulSilver for the Nintendo DS and, while I was incredibly bummed that the game wasn't inside, I decided to go ahead and purchase just the case/manual/inserts for $4.50. It sold for $40 and, oddly enough, it was the best purchase of the day (I bought some rare movies as well but nothing touched the Pokemon DS case!)

I did the same thing a couple weeks ago. I traded in a bunch of Mario Karts, Sports/Resort and NSMB. The guy let me trade in 3 Karts and 3 Sports. I had a couple more, but we didn't want to push the system. I also traded them in for Mario 3D All-Stars, so I got 20% extra trade credit. Also, one time an employee told me to trade in twords a pre-order, so I could get the extra credit and then cancel my pre-order. I've done that a few times, but I don't abuse it. I don't know if that is a bannable offense, if you continue to do it repeatedly.

Problem in the UK with this is that all main charities put their electronics / games on eBay auctions and never on the shelves. Unless you want 400 copies of FIFA 12 you’re basically never going to find anything of worth. That said, I can’t stop watching your content. It’s fantastic. Also, also, IIRC that Hulk game is amazing. Made by the same devs who made the Prototype series and those games were nuts too.

What people don't realize but the reality of flipping is being able to unload what you bought and it doesn't happen over night, you could sit on a game for months before you sell it and I imagine it'll be for less than expected

Absolutely love this series. Recently found ricks channel a few weeks ago and watched all these videos. After watching these videos I was checking our local Facebook market place every day. I found a guy selling a few Xbox one games and 2 of them caught my eye. I noticed he also had Hell Blade senduas sacrifice which goes for around £18 on EBay. He said £5 a game but he ended up saying 3 games for £10. I got Assassins creed unity, Skyrim elder scrolls v deluxe edition and hell blade for £10. I then sold hell blade for £17 on EBay. So pretty much a £7 profit, and 2 new games. Thank you very much Rick, this really works.

I don’t have a problem with GameStop. Just do the same type of thing you showed in this video. Crazy how the trade in values are so high on certain games. Just got around $150ish in the past two days by trading in my duplicate Wii titles plus a couple Black Op games. I knew about the Wii games but wouldn’t have thought about the black Ops without you video. Had actually seen them at a thrift last week, saw your video and picked them up.

Split/Second is great. You've got to play it instead of flipping it. :). You have inspired me. I might have to go out and start searching for games outside of the Internet. Definitely can be done. I've been doing this since before Rick started his challenge and I've gotten a ton of games for free and in most cases I profit massively. Free Sega Saturn, Dreamcast, Wii U, over 200 NES games, you name it. And it has actually has paid for my Famicom Disk System collection as well which is nearing completion. I got my Switch for free doing what Rick is doing, but you need to be careful on trading in too many doubles. GameStop will actually put a temp block on your trade ins if you do that too often. Keep doing what you're doing Rick! Spread the word!

For Gamestop I'd have to say that I liked it when online buying wasn't popularized and preferred. When I was younger the place I would go was Gamestop. I got some of my childhood games there. However, in this day and age I now find all my games on ebay. I go to gamestop all the time still to see what special deals they have. It's a 40 minute drive so it isn't all the time.

Gamestop is nice, especially with the savings you can get, but the thing that annoys me the most is when some games say game only online and they come in the mail with their cover art, and then a game that isn't labeled as "game only" comes loose. I can never tell what will come loose and what will come in a case with its art and manual. Other than that I love gamestop for their savings

So you are the reason I sometimes gets games from gamestop in the mail without cases ;) just kidding. I figured this is why some games at gamestop don't have cases, cause it's like why would someone not have the case. I love gamestop I don't have any issues with them. I love their b2g2 sales I mean I got a ton of PS3 and Xbox360 games basically for 2-4 bucks a piece and I get PS4 and Xbox one games for 5-10 each all the time using those sales. Glad you went back and got that Split/second title I mentioned last video.

Gamestop is a love/hate relationship. I enjoy talking to some of the employees but the "new" games not being sealed is annoying. Once bought a "new" Bravely Default on the 3ds at Gamestop. Went home to play it, and found a saved file of over 96 hours on it.
