I needed to see this today. You're the man. It's discouraging getting 3-4 likes from "friends". Most "friends" don't want to see you succeed so I've learned try to reach people outside of your immediate circle.

Thank you for your words. Sometimes as a female DJ in this industry, it's twice harder since all people think you can offer is a nice body. But we have to keep it legit and show em our skills!
@djcarlo

Yeeessss! Keep it legit; there are so many talented female DJs out there who people expect to dress all sexy just BECAUSE. It's an uphill struggle I've seen here in The Philippines as well, so you go girl, and keep playing the good stuff!

I like how you relate the keys in life to djing. it's all about how much effort you put in, and then you strive for what you want ! :) And lowkey i'm definitely okay with you making videos related to gadgets!

Hey Carlo My suggestion for you would be that we (or I) follow you because you post DJ related stuff and because you have a friendly face we follow you I think that there are plenty other channels on KZbin that post these phone reviews and all. This channel has remixes and information for newbies like us so that's why it's one of the few channels that makes us to turn the post notifications ON. So I think you should stick to what you're doing brother don't take me wrong but that's what I feel like. :) All the best for the future.

Before social media: 1. Be one of the first at the start of a new musical movement. Living in a city helps a lot as well as being proactive in pushing that new sound. 2. Be a rich kid where your parents can rent nightclubs and pubs without you having to spend your paper round money, take a loss for months in a row until your night gets a following (don't be poor.) 3. Your dad owns a nightclub and puts you on the decks even though you have no experience. 4. A friend of the family owns a nightclub, at a BBQ your dad tells them like you the music of the day and you get the spot even though you have no experience DJing. 5. Grind GTA style going round every club asking for the manager, handing out CDs and mixtapes that go straight in the trash can because he alrwady has a DJ and is more concerned about the passed out girl in the toilets. Keep this up every week until the manager caves and gives you a spot. 6.Try to network with the club DJs who have no say in who gets to work the dex and dont want their spot taken anyway. Plus you're an annoying kid disturbing them between mixes. 7.DJ competitions. Hopefully the prize is a spot somewhere. Ive won low cash prizes. The experience on a big sound system is worth more than the money. Small time DJs dont have CVs so if you win a tourney no club owner will ever know or care about your acomplishement. 8. When you get the spot, sometimes the equipment is sub par and nobody tells you before hand. Bring your headphones, needles, slipmats. The biggest problem happens when the DJ box has no monitor speakers. I've Dj'd at multiple places with no speakers in the DJ booth, so you're dropping mixes to echos around the room. Sound travels slow. By the time the sound bounces around the room its to late and you're chasing ghosts. You have to learn to mix in the headphones and not the speakers. Left channel, left turntable, right channel right turntable. Scratching and turntablism goes out of the window. You have to learn how to DJ in the worst possible conditions or sound like you're the worst DJ on Earth. 9. In the social media age buy a video producer who has a drone camera and film your faked DJ set on Mount Fuji while wearing a bikini, then make bank. Or be hot enough that a video producer wants to bang you and gift you a career. 10.Practice practise pratcie. Don't get disheartened when somebody with zero skill gets chosen over you. Club managers are there to manage a club. Not talent scout. DJing is not like guitar, bad at guitar and everybody knows. Djs can be massive without them knowing basic mixing skills. 11. Grind. Network. Be outgoing. 12. Be top 10 in the world and still grind. or have a gimmick that takes off. or have money to buy your spot. If not see #13 13.Grind & hope that somebody gives you a chance, grind and make that chance. Did I mention grind? Now kids have the chance to show their skill and get popular on their own terms. Back in the day handing out mixtapes to 50 year old men who didnt care every weekend was pretty disheartening. Chasig people around just so you can "network" when they didn't want some spotty kid in their face asking them for the spot. Today You can create content for like minded people to consume and gain followers is easier than trying to push mix tapes in your local area. This is a new age, rich or poor you have a chance. Produce. Make contant as Carlo says. Have fun & love what you do!

It took me 10 years to become the best restaurant in town. Now after 15 years it brought me everything I could ever imagine in my life. The only thing I would wish for now is good health. I always wanted to be a dj and play music for people. 2 weeks ago I bought the ddj400 to start with. I take Carlo’s lessons on YT 🙏😊 After my age 50 it is just for fun. And maybe one day when I do a gig somewhere people will say hey look at this old man. He plays really good 😊

DJ Carlo Atendido hey Carlo. I live in Dalyan. Dalyan is beautiful it’s a touristic place full of natural beautiful and historical places (South West Turkey). Ancient city of Caunos is here. We have a world famous caretta turtle beach, bays, rivers, lakes and mountains. The most important rock tombs (king tombs) in Turkey are here. My restaurant is by the water. I am not on social media but my hotel restaurants name is Beyaz Gul. Maybe you can find something on the internet. My concept is totally the opposite of other restaurants. I play jazz music. No technology, adult only, we don’t accept groups. Our concept is very successful and many people visit us. I am the cook and my girlfriend is waiter. We have staff from Uzbekistan they are very hardworking people. You are always welcome and if you come alone you don’t have to pay for accommodation you will be my guest. I have friends who have a bar here they would love to meet you. They have dj’s playing there every weekend. Next week I will play music. I am now making playlists which take a lot of time. I sort them out on genre, bpm and stuff. Your lessons are very usefull I subscribed your channel and you are doing very well and personally I think that you are very open and honest. What makes you very special. I read the comments and many people think the same. The world is full of fake people and all we want is honest people. I wish you the best in life. Many greetings and kind regards from Turkey.

Thank you for another great content sir Dj 😁 For me it is okay for you to post unrelated dj stuff because I know you as a Dj but I really don't know you at all like what Gadgets do you like? What clothes do you wear? If you are not djing, what do you do? Aside from djing what are your hobbies? Do you have a girlfriend? Do you have a car? How much you go out in the Philippines? What gadgets do you use in creating your content? Are you sad or what makes you happy as a Dj or as a Filipino Dj? Are you planning to migrate to other countries coz people there pay you higher? Where else do you wanna go? Do you want to go to the beach or would you rather stay at home and sleep? And many more 😂 but still it is good for you to upload dj stuff. So this is just my opinion 😁 Do whatever you want to your channel 😉

Another good one Dj Carlo. To answer your question though. I've been following you since I love EDM and would also like to pursue it DJing as a career (but now just a hobby) and I've been also following a lot of tech bloggers online. I think. I have always thought it great to branch out. Do things not just related to djing or producing but show more of who you are and the passion you have for different aspects of life. Thinking back to my first days of getting into live mixing, I would look at the legends of DJs and Producers and be left with the question: how do they stay so focused? Thankfully, many of those same inspirations do Vlogs giving a behind the scenes look and making them more authentic when seeing struggles. Now fair to point out I am not talking about videos, Instagram and so on posts of lavish lifestyles. Rather those passions from which inspiration comes. As is said here: "content is king" though in my opinion, "authentic content is legendary."

Hey man, I stumbled across you today for the first time. Seeing as you have been interesting, eloquent, enthusiastic and knowledgeable, you deserve my time to answer the question you posed at the end. You should listen to your own advice! Go for it, if that's what you want. If any people stop following you, they will be replaced by new and inquisitive subscribers. Do what you love. You are clearly talented at DJ'ing and I personally wouldn't ever want to stop but I assume you are just thinking to add other stuff to your repertoire. You can do the presenting thing well and come across as amicable and personable so I think you could definitely make it work. The only issue which springs to mind is you may end up with a mountain of videos on here, which may create confusion so possibly you could start it here then migrate over to a separate channel? I'm sure you have great ideas anyway. All the best, you deserve every bit of success and affluence that you desire! Rx

Hey man I LOVE your work, and honestly this video spoke volumes to me. I really appreciate the content that you put about about stuff on djing and I personally think if you want to post videos on reviewing phones and electronics that you should make a separate page just for that. You have to think about your audience and the content that you’ve put out thus far, all of it has been about DJ related stuff, which is what your audience mainly is. I feel that if you start adding other stuff that isn’t that it might not flow as well, if you make another page however, you will be able to build yourself from the ground up on your audience from there with fans that are into electronic reviews. It would only make sense to electronic reviews on DJ stuff if you did want to do it on this channel. Also something that I’ve noticed with posting videos is that it’s all about how you name your videos, so keep that in mind when posting routines or electronic videos. Hope this helps man, best of luck with everything!

Hi Carlo! Great vid. Personally I think doing videos about tech is cool and its a thing that make thousands of people analyze their decisions about buying the correct device that fit them. However, there are a lot of channels that talk about the same, specially when talking about of apple or galaxy. I believe a way of making a difference between all these channels would be testing underground hardware, like low-cost phones with a great performance and comparing the with mainstream phones. Thanks Ahmed! But what do you mean? The name "DJ" is literally in the channel's title, so what would you recommend I make videos on? :)

I’ve performed for small crowds and that, but I hate the idea of bars and clubs prioritize or lean towards those with a social media following. It should be about the music. Kind of deters me from seeking sets for performance. But, I understand its business. It should be about the music selection and tekkers, but great advice man.

after i watch 40 videos from your channel, this is the most emotive and beautiful sharing experience, thank you bro!!!, you look a great person and you transmit this positive energy.... i only want to learn play like dj, because i love music, but you are a good example for the people want to be more profesional and a fantastic inspiration... maybe some day the big companies like pionner want to buy you image to give a personal humanity for them products...(this is used in marketing too)....don't change bro!!!!...thanks a lot!!

I like this video. I would say it’s great to do other things you like and it’s beyond everyone’s opinion if they approve/like it or not. What I would just say is that make sure you upload that other content to a new channel and maybe promote it here and there when you post stuff regarding DJs. I know it’s hard growing a channel from zero but I feel like KZbin channels should stick to their niche, especially when they have an established audience.
