Great Video, I hooked up c02 scrubber my ph meter,- reeffactory was before media 8.26 day at night 8.19 when the c02 was added was up 8.5 day at night 8.44 this seems high. I will say my windows are open all the time, the one thing I noticed that my alkalinity stated to rapidly drop is this normal,? ,usually sitting at 8.3dkh to 8.9dkh dosing it dropped to 7.3dkh.

Goodmorning Sir, I have a question is that co2 scrubber is only for reef tank?
@TheCoralReefTalk2 жыл бұрын
Hello, this CO2 scrubber is made to work with your aquarium as the air to the skimmer passes through the media.

How about for human sir?
@TheCoralReefTalk2 жыл бұрын
@@CarloLRamasnot sure, I don't believe so, I know there are air exchangers that can help reduce CO2 levels in your home. This specific application is meant for aquariums.

Where do you buy your soda lime sir?

I just added a link in the description of the video for you. it takes you to the exact one that I buy. Definitely check it out

The air comes out after scrubbing is oxygen? Is it good for human also?
@rodster44 Жыл бұрын
There is no change in O2 levels, the scrubber simply removes CO2 from the air that passes through the granular calcium hydroxide. Reduced CO2 means less carbonic acid in your aquarium water which lowers PH and blocks coral calcification.

Why a spoon of water? Is it to get some seal of any kind or does it activate anything?
@TheCoralReefTalk5 жыл бұрын
So from what I gather. The addition of the water helps the pellets last a little longer and provides more of a humid air within the scrubber.
@Diskusforum5 жыл бұрын
@@TheCoralReefTalk then you need to add water on a regular basis I guessing?

It doesnt work well if it dries out. You lose 15-20% effectiveness

The airline tubing that came with mine from the same company and everything is a little bigger how did you get your airline tubing so small or did you have to do some custom work to your CO2 scrubber?
@TheCoralReefTalk4 жыл бұрын
Interesting. This is what came with mine, if I remember correctly. where did you order yours ?
@bdunn143 жыл бұрын
@@TheCoralReefTalk Mine was larger too.. Got mine from BRS - the tubing wraps around the outside of mine and not the inside like you pushed yours onto.. the silencer. Sorry for the extremely long run on sentence. I will do better next time!

Soda Lime. Look into it if this is a long term thing for you. It’ll save you a ton over BRS stuff.

Nuclear reactors are an excellent way to produce greenhouse gas free electricity and they could power these carbon scrubbers. New advances such as small modular reactors built on an assembly line and trucked out to sites around the globe that could be as common as a Walmart or a hospital. Truly enabling a local power grid coupled with wind and solar. Make no mistake that there are forces that want to make nuclear power so expensive that it's not viable. When you look at the worst case scenarios of Chernobyl and Fukushima you can see that nuclear power is truly not the boogeyman that people want to make it out to be, but rather the overreaction to an accident. I recommend podcasts such as Titans of Nuclear and lots of KZbin channels educating on how nuclear power works, including the economics. I would much rather live next door to a nuclear power plant than a coal or natural gas plant.

I cry each time I see people use these ridiculously high priced items just because it does something they are told. Activated carbon is probably the best co2 scrubber. People use it for food production as well. water chemistry is important, but these days people sell all these gimmicks at ridiculous prices. I run a big tank at 1400liters. Home made skimmer, no additives, home made sump and do 10% to 15% water changes every 3 months and my water is crystal clear. Honestly, great video bud, but I promise you that you can keep your tank crystal clear without all of these products. Keep a perfect biological bacteria team and you're good to go.
