Wow, as someone who lives in Fargo, I did not expect to hear that used as an example. Thanks for the shoutout! Haha.

For a USA resident to fly to... The Philippines, book Delta from Mexico thru South Korea to Manila or Cebu. Of course you'll need a positioning flight to Mexico. You may have to book incognito or using a VPN for the best price. Also, departing LAX, book Taiwan-based StarLux ✨ thru Taiwan to Manila or Cebu. The owner of StarLux is a licensed Airbus pilot and one of the sons of the founder of EVA Air (great backstory). I fly to Cebu.

Have you guys ever used Aeroplane miles for domestic travel in US? I’m Canadian and we have terrible airline options for points redemptions so we usually look for a transfer partner in the US and travel to the closest US airport by land then fly. Any experience with Aeroplane transfers?

Hey Nick, you mention in this video that you’d only use virgin miles for delta one to EUR. I recently used 75k virgin points for a one way business class ticket fco to bos on ita. I used chase or Amex (can’t remember) points with a 30% transfer bonus. So I paid 52500 for the flight. How would you have done it? Thanks!

Hello guys and thank you for your great content. I have a question and maybe it would be fairer to call it a statement. Is it fair to say that if you do not fly internationally, meaning that 95%+ of your air travel is US domestic, all point transfers (chase) lead to Hyatt? I find it very hard to justify and use of Chase points outside of Hyatt. I regularly find 2,3,4 and sometimes more cents per point using Hyatt. Almost more importantly I almost NEVER get less than 2 cents per point on any redemption. As far as AMEX points are concerned, as an almost pure domestic traveler, I find their points to be worth 1 to about 1.5 cents per.

My issue with the "speculative" transfer argument was that his situation was not speculative. At least not in what I would consider speculative. The asker said they take trips yearly to Europe. To me that isn't speculating on the use. Sure there is a risk with devaluation but the benefit of a bonus might make sense.

I think the main takeaway is 'proceed with caution' if you transfer bonuses speculatively.

I am beyond frustrated with the whole process of booking my Turkish Airline flight. I transferred my hard-earned miles to Air Canada and booked the flight through their website, only to be told that I couldn't reserve a seat because it was a Turkish Airline flight. When I tried to do so on Turkish Airline's website, my booking number wasn't recognized, and I received an unhelpful message saying I should contact the channel on which I made the reservation. Desperate for a solution, I turned to the Turkish Airline app, which allowed me to view my ticket, but still didn't let me reserve a seat. When I called customer service, I received no real help or empathy for my situation. Instead, they told me that I couldn't reserve a seat because I booked through Air Canada, and suggested that I try on the day of the flight. Are you kidding me? How is that supposed to make me feel any better? To make matters worse, I am traveling with children, and I'm worried we won't be able to sit together on the flight. I used all my points to purchase this ticket, and now I'm left feeling helpless and anxious. If anyone has gone through a similar ordeal and found a solution, please share. Thanks.

Hello. Thank you for your vids. I just subscribed. One thing that is frustrating to me as a newbee point-consious individual is figuring out the transfer partner sites and how to see how one goes about actually searching and booking reward miles. By actually, I mean the actual clicks and actions one does on their computer to complete the task. Have you guys done vids that show that? I think I just signed up to about 4 reward loyalty programs and I still can't figure out how to see flights offered with points/rewards. Any advice would help. Thank you.

We booked a flying blue economy ticket, flying Air France for a very low redemption and bonus (I believe it was 22,500 for two people). They could offer it for free and I'd decline. The seats were so small. The person in front aggressively reclined (both ways). I'd rather pay up for a non-torture version of economy or business class. I'll skip the travel if I ever have to consider Air France economy.

You went for a reward ticket and were disappointed? Dude you paid literally nothing. Low expectations

@@911eVoX as I mentioned in the comment... it could be free and I'd decline. The experience matters more to me than the cost. Even while keeping low expectations, Air France's economy seats were torture. I've flown many long haul flights across the world in economy. These were the worst. But hey, I should just enjoy torturous experiences because they're cheap, right? Points are a currency, it's not literally nothing 'dude'.

@@lawadvocate7 I'm well aware that the business/first class redemptions are the way to go. This particular trip was more about trying to keep costs (cash and points) low. However, my point in the original comment is that I wish I had just paid up as Air France had a particularly small economy seat. I've flown many long-haul flights on economy but this one felt like torture.
