If you are an international student, take a look here: www.ox.ac.uk/admissions/undergraduate/applying-to-oxford/for-international-students/international-qualifications Each specific course will normally give an expected IB grade, but if you are not taking the IB have a look at how your specific qualification compares by looking at the Oxford website. If you are still confused, feel free to email the admissions team for the subject you are interested in to see how your qualifications would be considered.

You normally have to apply a year in advance. Exact date depends on the programme you are applying for.

Depends on the course. For an undergraduate degree, your school grades are looked at as well as result in an extra test (such as the TSA - Thinking Skills Assessment). You may then be asked to submit further written work, and attend an interview. So it's always a combination of factors they consider.

I'm 16 and would like to attend but my GCSE results where very poor ( a lot of c's) do you think it is worth my time to apply. I wasn't focused on school back then. But recently I've been doing very well with 90+%. Is it possible to repeat GCSE's or should I bother?

You have 5 UCAS choices and if your current academic grades are good then, in my opinion, you should definitely give it a go. If you demonstrate progression and momentum in your grades, that will be something that will help. Also, your school reference should reflect on how you really improved and how you are a rough diamond that needs polishing.

Why is it so expensive for international students to go to oxford university? I really want to go to to oxford and I am willing to do my best. However, to get a scholarship is very difficult and the fee is too high. Does that mean that average families can't go to oxford? I wish my comment would be seen and considered by the people in oxford who deal with admitting international students into the university. I know a lot of people who wanted to apply but could not. Hello, Oxford as many other Universities offer finacial aid to families with low income. This can reduce the cost of study dramatically. How big the financial aid is depends on your financial situation. If you have any further questions feel free to ask.

Hi, yes it is possible to get a full scholarship but mind that there are very few of them and the competition for them is guaranteed to be extremely high. But theoretically you can get a full ride at Oxford.

Hello, yes most of them have excellent grades but that doesen't rule out the ones without the best grades. Some of our students who had near excellent grades still got accepted into their dream universities.

Hi, for oxford most of the applicants go for IGCSE. Though you might be able to get away with SAT or AP subject tests. Though IGCSE's are easier than both and the average IGCSE results for Oxford applicants are 8/9's.

Hi Ameer, well you can definitely apply. If your application is good enough, you have a decent chance. Switching from Data Science into Physics is not impossible. We had more radical changes and they do let these things through!

Hi Sharon, Oxford University's MS in Neuroscience asks for applicants to have an undergraduate degree in any scientific discipline. Psychological, biochemistry or any biological science will most naturally fit with a masters in neuroscience, but, at least for Oxford, it is not required.

Hey, the deadline is 8th of January for a Masters. Its of course better to have activities outside of school however if you are at the top of your class and you will have great essays and interview it shouldn’t matter as much. Oxford is an international school and they accept qualifications that are equivalent to GCSE and A levels. So in the US that would be the SAT.

Yes, there is! We have had students without excellent prior grades get in. Equally, many students with excellent grades do not get in. A whole picture is taken into account and you definitely have a shot!
