Every interview is different, but here are some things to think about, there may be more. - Really know the job specification requirements. -Think of examples of how you meet the Trust values (these can be non-clinical examples as well). You might want to think about the NHS 6Cs and think of examples of how you meet them. -Prioritisation questions are common -Know your basic neuro, MSK and respiratory assessments as you can apply this to clinical questions. -Conflict management, or escalating problems such as patient fell what do you do, or staff member not washing their hands properly or has poor moving and handing... -Know your clinical governance 7 pillars especially information governance. - General understanding of common presentations such as stroke, Parkinson’s, OA, COPD. -Basic treatments such as ACBT -ABG blood gas interpretation. -Know your medical observation normal values . - Red flags in MSK. -How you can be adaptive and respond to change. -Recent CSP information, initiatives and drives... lots to do with equality and diversity, COVID and mental health at the moment. -Know about the Trust, what do they offer for you particularly, what are you interested in? Mentoring schemes? Teaching? CPD opportunities. -Recent research you’ve done? Articles you have read? Application of evidence based practice. -Most importantly... they want to know that you will be safe... don’t work beyond your scope of practice. Use your team and speak to your senior. Don’t compromise the patients safety. Remember they are not expecting you to know everything.
