So being a military spouse and moving every 3 years is considered a hardship? Are you saying thats something I would want to put in my application. My husband is about to retire from the service and we are looking to relocate to Austin from San Diego specifically for college. I finally got my associates degree in liberal arts with an emphasis on math and science and hoping to get into their BSN program. Im also in the honors society with a 3.89 GPA. What steps should I take now to get in? We have 1.5 years left here. I'd hate to move there and not get accepted. Thank you!

Do I have to write the 500-700 word essay even if I submit it through the coalition app? If yes, then will UT Austin's admission team read my coalition essay too?

Hi Saumya! Thanks for watching. Yes, you will still need to write and submit the 500-700 word essay in response to the following prompt: "Tell us your story. What unique opportunities or challenges have you experienced throughout your high school career that have shaped who you are today?" To the best of our knowledge, admissions will not review the Coalition personal statement, as this long essay will serve as your personal statement. To be on the safe side, however, we recommend calling the admissions office to confirm. Best of luck! - Team CEA

Good grades will do it, Bad grades will not get a student into the University , The essays are irrelevant

Hi Masonry, thanks so much for watching our video. Just like grades, essays are a valuable part of any college application. That's why many colleges, like UT Austin, ask students to write multiple essays! Test scores, extracurricular activities, and location can also factor into an admissions officer's decision. We always encourage students to put aside time to brainstorm, draft, and edit their college essays, since a spectacular essay can make you stand out from a sea of similarly qualified applicants. We wish you the best of luck with your college applications! - Team CEA
