Why do people care if this shield breaks? You're getting it so close to the end of the game you probably by then can a. parry very well (which doesn't damage the shield) and b. probably beat the game before it even breaks

i aslong as u carefuly climg up the leaning towers outside the castle u can just glide down to the lockup part of the castle no problem i did it with just 5 hearts and some bomb arrows for the boss really easy..

Try talking to Hudson after you buy a house in Hateno Village and complete the "From the Ground Up" side quest. After this go to Tarrey town and talk to a wondering merchant found in Tarrey town named Grante.

Skyward Sword made the Hylian Shield a hidden unique legendary thing as a sort of easter egg, but in Ocarina of Time (the first game it appeared in), not only was the Hylian Shield breakable (get yourself swallowed by a Like Like while it's equipped, the Like Like will digest it), you could buy more copies from Hyrule Castle Town (past) or Kakariko Village (future) whenever you wanted. It's really nothing special.

Yeah, Skyward Sword, which was the most recent main installment before BotW came out, was the one that started the "Hylian Shield is ubreakable!" thing. Before that, it was just a sturdy normal shield with a traditional design.
