She made a good point that there is no one way to grow hair. I watch some other KZbinrs that swear by not doing anything at all and leaving your hair in protective styles for 4-6 weeks (like Seun Okimi), others that use different natural products consistently (Eugenia Kelcy), and others that heat stretch (Green Beauty). All have beautiful long hair. There's no one road to the magical long hair destination, but there some commonalities between most naturals with long hair, which I've found to be moisturizing consistently and protective styling/low manipulation styles.
@rb70073 жыл бұрын
Yep, I agree. Moisturising and low manipulation is key! Back in the day when jheri curl was a thing, I had mid back length hair. Previous, to that it was very short. All I did was spray Scurl in it, apply a little Scurl gel....pick it out a little with an Afro comb, left it and it grew like weeds. But I rarely shampooed my hair at that time! 🤷♀️

You need to moisturize and seal your hair in protective styles twice a week (loose ones or cornrows, I don't recommend weaves/crochet). If you do this consistently, your breakage will be minimal when you take it out.

Strong, smooth, healthy, AND short hair is beautiful!! Short hair is also beautiful. While I understand the desire to grow longer hair, I feel like the constant emphasis by influencers on the concept of long = beautiful is a detrimental message and causes people to negate the value of hair that is shorter than the prized waist length or tailbone length. Just my humble two cents🤔✌️

@juniaosme23963 жыл бұрын
I use to have that problem also. When I would wash my hair I would get so much matted clumps of hair even after detangling. Thank God cause he saw my frustration. He lead me to a couple of youtubers that either braid or twist their hair loosely while washing it and the also finger comb their hair. That's what saved me. Of course tweak it to fit you. For me, for example, I wash and deep condition weekly. I keep my hair in protective styles. When I switch styles I keep my hair in the braids and wash and condition and moisturize. Once my hair dries I unbraid my hair and finger detangle and put back into braids or twist for a couple days until I decide what long-term protective style I'll do next. Let me know how that helps you 🙂
