I agree about outsourcing. I used to edit all my photos, but as business grew I found it was all I was doing and had no time for anything else. Once I started outsourcing my business has grown exponentially. I think you should learn in the first instance, but eventually outsourcing is the best way to grow your business and offer more services. Nice work.

Absolutely. A base understanding of how to do it in a pinch is super useful - but on a continued basis? I can’t imagine being so busy haha. Thanks for stopping by :-)

Thanks for this. I’ve been learning how to edit flambient. I’m just trying to get my foot in the door, so at this point it’s still worth knowing how to do it myself. But once I get busy enough, definitely would rather just focus on shooting and growing the business. Will have a look at your book for sure 👍

Thank you! Like my listing videos? I have before, yes. I’ve got it down to such a quick process that I feel like it’d be a waste of money to outsource. Fotober also edits videos, and while they do a good enough job, there’s always one or two things that bug me about them; and I just generally enjoy editing my own videos. I’ll be uploading a video on how I edit mine soon, and I get it done really quickly. I’m talking ~30 minutes or less total video editing time. Thanks for your comment!

To each their own, but I can’t imagine having to spend 2 extra hours editing per shoot. Nathan Cool is awesome, but of a much older mindset, I think.

The problem with this approach is when you send out your editing and the realtor needs it the same day you're hooped because you can't edit well as you stated. Or they do a poor job and you can't fix it. You rely on them ..

You can upsell them on same day delivery, and just tell your editors. There’s a difference between low quality editors and high quality ones, and I’ve never had a problem getting photos back within 4 hours if I need it. Your use case is far too uncommon to warrant editing ALL your photos on your own. I would much rather rely on a third party to take care of the thing that wastes the most amount of time, and then run into issues every once in awhile. As for relying on them too heavily, I know how to edit my own photos. I just don’t do my own interiors since it’s a huge waste of time. Thanks for your comment!

Exactly. I've gained a few of my high end clients because the photographer they were using before me was getting the colors and details wrong. The editors photos were not accurate to the colors in person and the RE photographer couldn't fix them because they didn't know how to.
