Good advice. I'll be the first to say this, I'm not the greatest DJ out there. However, I am a good salesman and an extrovert. I don't have a big online presence, although I do know the importance of having one. I mostly work locally. Weddings, Corporate events, any private event, bars, Hotels... you name it. I am a full-time DJ and the way I got there was to talk to everyone. My wife says that I am everybody's best friend. Building rapport and forming quick relationships is definitely a skill every DJ should develop if they don't have it. Another great vid. Keep at it.

I was a professional DJ for 16 years, and I did it before the internet, before mobile phones, before satnavs, and I WAS GOOD. One great agent, but most bookings came by repeats and recommends. The nightclub work kept me in clubs 4 nights a week with mobiles on Friday and Saturday. You spout good, but you don't have history. I started in 1974. We were better than you lot these days because we genuinely cared about those we did gigs for.
