This is a tutorial on how I use a new high efficiency washing machine. Are you tired of not getting enough water in your machine to wash your clothing? I'm sure you are, but there is a reason your washing machine washes the way it does. There is another way to get more water. Stop dumping jugs of water into your washing machine.

I completely agree!! If there isn't enough water to saturate the clothes, they won't be clean. I'm currently searching for an old school used washer. And water efficient washers, along with being unable to choose what type of washer we want, is indeed government imposed!!!

i have been reading 12-15 other people's posts that are having the exact same problem that I'm having. I have a 2 month old top loading Maytag impelling wash machine. WE ALL are using our machines correctly and according to instructions.. We are getting only 1 1/2 inches of water when washing ladies undies, or dirty jeans, or towels, or blankets, or sheets! I used all the deep water settings and only a tiny tiny load and got (by measure) the exact level of water as when I washed sheets and blankets, 1 1/2 inches.. Not everything gets even wet let alone clean. All the other women described the same experience so it is not a problem with my machine.. I have to hose water to the tub from my laundry sink. This ridiculous! I don't understand why your Maytag delivers so much water. This is not about pretreating. i have ALWAYS pretreated every piece of clothing with visible dirt. You said the clothing friction is what cleans the clothing. Other women who have had the machine for a year say it is majorly wearing their clothes out. The sales pitch we were given was how GENTLE it was on your clothes. I am very disappointed that i replaced my front loader with this thing. I feel like Laura Ingles Wilder toting water to wash! Each load wastes time and effort! GRRRRR!
@TheRifter
@TheRifter 4 жыл бұрын
Everything I said is true. If you are trying to use a deep water cycle on a normal load, it's not going to happen on any washer. Just about all manufacturers require a different cycle than normal in order to use deep fill. I said use the bulky setting on auto. It gives you more water for the same amount of weight. I wouldn't say an impeller is any gentler on your clothing than a normal agitator model. Even agitator models wash the same as impeller models. If you are using deep wash cycles on something other than normal, and your bulky/sheets cycle only gives you that small amount of water, I would file a warranty claim. Something is wrong with your machine. The two things that will wear your clothing out quicker than anything is too much soap being used and sunlight.

These damn HE water saving machines are the worst pieces of garbage I've ever bought. They take forever sensing & randomly stopping. They won't add enough water to even get the clothes wet. So, I have tried adding buckets of water to the small & med. size loads but that causes it to immediately lock down, drain & spin ALL the water out instead of washing at all! So, all my soap, bleach, enzyme stain fighters etc. is wasted too. So, you have to run each barely damp load 4 or 5 times & it takes all day to do one load & more water, energy, soap, bleach, enzyme cleaners etc. than the old fashioned washers & still not as clean because they also have extremely slow washing movement with No Agitation at all! For one person, the extra large cycle is too big because you don't want to mix all your colors just to fill that large load or wait for months to get enough of 1 color to fill the extra large cycle. Also, I try to find one of the rare times the lid is not locked to agitate by hand the load with a wooden stick which helps to clean a little. So, now I mostly just wash by hand in buckets or in the bathtub which is very tough on an old arthritis etc. suffering lady but probably faster, less soap & water wasted than using that damn machine. 😢. Oh, right after I got it, I got a repair man to fix these problems, but he said it was working perfectly as it was made to. His only suggestion was using the extra large cycle. It doesn't wash any better either.🥺😩

there is no functional difference between a agitator model and a washplate (impeller) model. the only difference being they installed a big pole on your washplate. everything else is identical. Also Whirlpool/Maytag recommends loading in loose heaps each article not spreading out like he did. if you have the washplate dont cover the middle where the agitator would be. deep wash only changes the rinse not the wash
@TheRifter
@TheRifter 3 жыл бұрын
Actually, there is a functional difference. An agitator pulls your clothes down in the center. You are correct in leaving the center of the impeller uncovered. Deep wash changes the depth of wash cycles other than normal. Consult your user manual for more information. There is a GE model that has a deep rinse cycle.

I wash a lot of clothing together. I always use cold water. You can use which ever water temperature you like, with the exception of cold wash, it will only use cold water. Power wash is a harder and longer wash. It also adds some warm water to help with stains. Soil level is the amount of time.

What's even more stupid is because I have to run more cycles on the same clothes to get them clean, it defeats the entire purpose of 'H.E.'. The whole thing is ridiculous. I do know what I'm talking about, if you have a model with a known problem, then it is not my fault. Bulky/sheets should be giving you more water. If it's not, then something is wrong with your machine. If this doesn't help you, then move on. I've never told anyone that the impeller is more gentle on clothing. The worst things for your clothing are soap and sunlight. File a warranty claim before you are out of your first year, because something is mechanically wrong with your machine. Your name is "okskills," not "washer mechanic." Maybe you don't know everything. Stop taking your terrible purchase out on me. If this didn't help you, then something is wrong with your machine.
