This is actually so cool. Often especially on the island you can't find high levels especially early on. I had several cases of starting mutations with 35 or so on a stat and later found something like 41 or 43 in ASE which wasted SOOOO much time. This definitely makes the game more accessible as a single player because I don't think tribes have this problem as much as single players. They can hunt dinos in several spots and kill low levels to basically force high level spawns real quick compared to single players.

@@CxMonstah thats not the issue. Island has a natural curve towards low end. Lets say you play default or set 150 max. Island still makes almost all dines level 60 and below. The higher end of the curve spawns too rarely and you need to clear the map usually multiple times to find something like lets say giga high level or yuty or carcha. The dinos that don't die by themselves and stay on the map for long. Some rare dinos almost stop spawning like thylas at some point especially if you don't clear the trees from bees. I have been looking for a thyla on the island for like a month at this point.

@@CxMonstah I didn't tho you clearly didn't understand/ I maybe wasn't able to explain what I meant. Anything short of making everything like set 150 level which kills the whole chase doesn't work on the island even with mods in my experience. You set it like min level 60 then everything is between 100 and 60 levels and you get like 10 dinos in the whole map tops that is 140 adjacent. You can set it higher than that sure but the problem is there is not a way to make hunting less rng dependent and still be actual hunts on island because either everything is really high levels or high levels are really hard to find.

@@ozimantv The mod that CxMonstah is referencing has a few different settings. It doesn't just change the minimum spawning to be a set number, it changes how the Island's spawning system works to either mimic Ragnarok, invert the weight (weighted towards high-end, plenty of lows still spawn), or have an equal chance to spawn any level. I'm personally using the mod for the reason that you mentioned - With some dinos being hard to find after a while (Spinos, Otters, and Thylas come to mind) it's easier imo just to weight the spawns different than to run around killing everything in sight to chase down the level.

How do you get mutations in multiple stats? For ex. Stamina and health have a 2 for the middle 0. Is it all just by chance? Some youtuber said theres a 7% chance to get mutations

I think that depends on how fast you want players to play. Most people quit playing after doing the bosses (guilty of it myself) so beware you don't make it too fast.

seeshell gaming had a really good tutorial. I was able to get a 40/40 pair of zinos on official after 3 months and then I got hired as a mega tribe breeder😊 because of her video I mean there's plenty of good ones out there man. I'm interested to see how this is different now.

1:05 "if you add all of those up..." it equals 74. Base stat is always level 1 so it's not additional levels. I am sure you know this, but people who may be new to the game may not and see that it always adds up to 1 less than their current level.

Love that it doesn't matter if you dont have the absolute highest possible favorable stat line on your dinos at the start. You can breed one that you find later that's higher, into that line as the mutations are independent from the line. I Remember the last time I was breeding rexes I got through the melee and stamina mut lines first, was about halfway through the health line when I found another rex that after taming was about 2k starting health higher than my original starting pair. Was pretty upset. Now that wouldn't be an issue. One thing you said I'm not sure about though. You mentioned the mutations could possibly go up to 244, is that per stat or in total? Because that could mean MEGA dinos and I'm all for that!

254* and yea they are called stat capped dinos. Because you max out each stat and get insane values plus a Dino with a level over 1000 if the server doesn't have a level limit

The individual stat limit remains at 255 (254 if you want to add post-tame levels) on official servers, but it can be changed on unofficials higher or lower. What's unclear at this point is if that limit is for hatched levels or hatched levels plus mutations. I suspect the latter, but only time will tell.

Can confirm that it has no effect on mutations, so the max you can get is 255 in all stats except health with has a 254 (melee for giga and carcha). Then add in the mutations let’s say 20 per stat and then add in the experience level. They should get to 1530 + 20(6) + max experience level cap

If the server isn't a modded one with a mod like super spyglass then you'd have to just write down the base stats of the dino and then monitor them according to babies with mutation. If the hp goes from 510 to 534 for example

Let’s say I had a 50/78/0 in melee on a female, would I be able to breed it directly into the perfect male 50/78/0 with the health? Would that then read 50/78/0 in health and 50/78/0 in melee respectively while using the tek binoculars? Or would it show a combined total of mutations as x/156/z

I'm brand new to Ark in general and this guide really was helpful. I did have a question if you still are responding. Are mutations always good? I have tamed a bunch of perfect 150's so I tried breeding when some with random other dinos and sometimes the first number stat ( x - 0 - 0 ) ends up higher than even the 150's but has lower stats in other things. I'm trying to learn how to breed properly and I am just not understanding why some people want unmutated and some want mutated. On my server people try requesting for 'clean' moms and I get confused because I figured any mutation is a bonus and why wouldn't you want that?

No they aren't always good, for example a rex with points in oxygen isn't helpful because you won't be swimming anyway. The reason you got lower stats is because each 150 dino has different amount of points in each stat. A male might have 30 points in hp and the female only has 10 points in hp, the baby can get either the mom or the dad's stat. Though there's about a 55% chance the baby gets the higher stat. Mutations also aren't guaranteed to pass down and can take breeding 100 times till you get the right one.

Hey! So what would happen if per say you tamed some Rex’s, and then bred both female and male, to for this instance. The male being 15/10/0 and then the female being 20/5/0 would mutations from both parents have a chance to combine, or would it only ever pick one or the other?

Track the base stats from right after taming the dinos. You can count how many times you get the right mutations, it's 127 mutations to reach 254. But by that point you'd have unlocked the binoculars haha because that takes a shit load of time to max out

how do i know weather the mutation is in health, melee, etc? You say that mutation boost its health, but is that because the mutation boosts all stats on the dino, or is it just saying that mutation was only for health? Also, you do need the tek binoculars first, but to get tek, you need to do a boss fight. What would you recommend for 1st boss fight?

Its worth noting that at 4:06 its said you want to use a male baby with the new improved mutation, but in the case you get a female that gets the mutation, you can either gender swap it using some mod, or you can breed that female baby with the dad you started out with (or any other male). Here you would also have to make sure that dad or other male does not have any mutations just like you would with the male baby. By breeding the female baby with a male you have good chances of getting the mutations that are on that baby female, onto a new baby male. its how i breed mine rather than only going for the male in the mutation process. Its worth noting that if you are using some kind of mod or something to increase the odds of mutations it may actually be better to simply only go for a male baby and throw away the female baby even if it has the correct added mutation

if you have alot females its often faster to just pretend you didnt get any mutations and do another batch, really need to leverage the fact a male can breed with 20 females for maximum efficiency, people using mods tend to forgo this tho i usually just add the mutated female to the breeding group of females for the next batch so i can leverage both odds

Ok I'm new to all this breeding stuff so can someone confirm that at the start of breeding you now dont need to worry about the level of dinos as you are now just concentrating on the mutation number so you could get a level 20 and a level 55 and breed them but just concentrate on the mutation counter only? This high mutated number dino will then be bred with the dino with high stat levels when you find one thus ending up with a high level in certain stat/high mutation level in same stat dino? Now if this is correct how exactly does the mutation number work on the new dinos stats? Does it mean that the stat will be boosted by a % of each mutation level on that stat? i.e if health of the high level stat dino was 1000 and you get 5% per mutation boost and you breed it with a dino with 50 mutation levels in health it would get 5% of 1000 x 50 = 1250 health dino? Yes that is correct, I don't actually know the math behind mutations but it's a lot higher than your example. With 50 hp mutations your hp would go for 1000 to like 4000 or something

In Evolved, 254 it the highest you can go, if you do 255 it removes all the mutations you've collected and reverts the stat value back to it's base form (without mutations). I'm unsure if the cap in evolved includes both mutation and base level to the 254 but someone said that the 254 limit is independent for each. So base stat max would be 254 and mutation level 254. Giving you a really powerful dino, BUT you won't find base stat that high anyway. So it's more like base stat 60 and mutations 254

You need a male if you want to stack past 20/20 mutations. The highest you should go is 254 stat points per stat. If you try go higher than that then the mutations stop working

its faster to keep em separate since all your babies will have mixed stats between the low mutation female and the high mutation male, you'd need to do a "merge breed" between every generation having the males split you can just move on to the next generation right away as you get your mutation

You can make one line a female and breed a male with health and a female with melee to get a baby with both. It's just hard to raise the mutations higher from that baby so do this when you have enough health and melee already

When I learned about this I literally about s*** myself. It basically means that breeding super dinosaurs becomes stupidly easy. You no longer have to depend on an entire server to breed up your own superdinos. You also don't have to have an entire massive army of them to do anymore. Because as long as one has all health and the other 1 has all melee the chances of a baby being born with a boosted stat are much higher now. So you basically flip flap what SE used to do. Now you focus on getting as many mutations and lvs as quickly as possible then focus on the stats. Where used to be focus on the stats and then mutation... This opens up a whole new world of solo breeding. You can basically breed superniles on your own very quickly and a much faster generation. Also I think the new mutation. Cap is 20 and then. You have to use the levels you put into something to have a chance at the baby being born with a increased level status as well. Also if I remember off of one of the studies my buddy is doing right now. He determined that the mutation is not a plus but a multiplier so you're multiplying by 2 so 5 × 2,5 × 4,5 × 6 then + %of stat in lv higher the stat the nore hp carry over. That's allows you to get much higher stats quicker with less generation breeding. Of course I can't 100% confirm This Yet. Because we're still testing it but my understanding is it was done this way To allow People to Just tame whatever they Want without Going Out And looking for Max level tames.. you can start with level 5 and still end up with the same stats as 2 bread 150 at a very quick Pace.

You get a new colour for each mutation, but when you breed the baby will get a mix between the parent colours, it's not linked to mutations in that way

Thanks for the explanation on mutations, but I do have a few follow up questions that both revolve around the max individual stats. Now in ASE, the individual stats had a max. As long as you didn't hit that max between the base stat & mutations, you could then put as many level up points into it as you wanted to. But if you hit that max with base state & mutations you could not put any level up points into it. The first question, has anyone figured out what the max is in an individual stat? Once we know the max, is the max still based on base stats + mutations, or are the level up points now calculated in to prevent us from going over the max with those level up points? And I forgot my 3rd question. lol But while trying to think of what it was something else dawned on me. It may not be wise to breed for mutations until you have your final breeders if there is an individual stat max. For instance, if you breed rexs for melee mutations and get 78, then make your breeders with say 100 in melee, that would give you a melee of 100 + 78. But what happens if you do that and then find out the max is 150? So once you have your breeders & know what the max is, then you know how many mutations you need in that stat. It's impossible to know before you have your breeders, right?

I believe each has a cap of 254, base stat can be up to 254, mutation stack can also go to 254 and level ups only lets you do like 88 or something.

I’m still a little confused, so like let’s say you have 78 mutations like you said towards the end of the video and the Rex is |50|78|0 in hp, what if all the mutations are not hp ones, do you still just try to breed in the best base stats with all the mutations for other stats and both the base stats and mutations merge? And also let’s say as a example you have a Rex with 10|0|0 stats in hp and 5|0|0 stats in like stam, does the stam stats just change to 5|2|0 with a stam mutation or everything gets a 2 on the mutation part?

You can get mutations for random stats, you have to get lucky to get the right mutation on the right stat each time. So as easy as this video makes it you will probably breed a thousand rexes to get 78 mutations in one stat eventually. A lot of the time you will get mutations in the wrong stat or no mutations at all
