one observation that i would like to put forth - here when one extracts raw data he gets readme file in a .doc format which does not have any hyper link to download the "datalay71252.XLS" file which work as a dictionary definer. how to obtain this .xls file . shall wait for the insight

I have registered on ICSSR DATA SERVICE website on 24th of this month. I havent received activation mail from them. How long i have to wait to get a reply from them? Do they usually take longer time to reply us?

You can get the same data by visiting microdata.gov.in/nada43/index.php/catalog/central/about and create your account. Making you account here is instantaneous and there is no verification process involved.
