In the age that we live in where all these companies nickel and dime you with dlc packs for this type of stuff. This game gives me old school gaming vibes. Just do the work and you can get something very cool

@@Sircoochie the comment is applauding Nintendo bc they could easily make the Tunic of Awakening and Fierce Deity Link sets on eshop for like $5 each instead knowing that people would buy them. But instead Nintendo decided to make them into side quests so you can get them. Also when totk gets a dlc it won’t just be adding armor, you’ll get tons of extra content, lore, more hours of added gameplay from new missions... and Nintendo does a great job of not charging a lot for their dlc either

This game was $70 at launch and will 100% have paid dlc that causes the price of the entire thing to at least go to $95 before taxes and fees, if not more. They had damn well better give us a few sets of armor. A functional game filled with interesting content should be the bare minimum for a triple A release but it seems like we're going backwards (obv not saying this last bit is the fault of the consumer)

For the log puzzle you can also use a stake to attach it directly to the top of the pillar without any issues of it falling over

For the third part, you don’t need to have the log touching the southern pillar. I connected 5 logs and held them up horizontally to where the shadow barely touched the southern shadow at the bottom and the northern tower at the top. I’m not sure how much better or worse this is in comparison to how you did it, but it’s always good to know you have options!

I just connected them and stood somewhere between the pillars on the ground. As long as the shadows are connecting there’s no need to get on top of a pillar.

7:34 you dont have to stand the tree bridge up. If you get it on a pillar just hover it until the shadows connect for a second and the cave permanently opens.

Came to watch this after finishing the quest for myself. For the third part, I ended up attaching four logs to a stake and had it all attached to the top of the tower. Took a few attempts before using the stake, and it made it so much easier!

For the third part, Mask of Awakening, I stood on the ground with 5 logs and raised them up, walked to the end of the pillars shadow and extended it. I think as long as you extend the shadow with no gaps there is no need to touch the southern pillar.

Thanks Austin, also as some have mentioned below, you can just cut 5 logs, make campfire and sit for noon, pick up the 5 connected logs you connected and lay it horizontally from north to south, no need to put the log vertically on top of the pillar. Other's may have mentioned this, but you can use ascend through logs. So if you pick the logs up as high as they'll go, put them back down and use recall, you can then ascend through them to avoid climbing (if you're feeling fancy)

You dont have to bring the logs all the way up. You can leave them on the ground in between the pillars.

So... this is interesting! I was working on getting the mask, and... well it turns out you don't even need to stand the logs up! they can be laid down on the ground between the south and north pillars and the shadow cast under them will open the door. It's lucky for me because I wanted to use the recall trick after sleeping and the pillar somehow fell perfectly between south and north so as soon as I 'woke up' at noon, the door unlocked for me! Might help out others who are trying to get that log up to the top!

At one point during depths exploration you will get a schema stone for a bridge, it should be more than tall enough for the shadow puzzle part.

Thanks for the video! This is the only amiibo costume I didn't have, nor did I have the amiibo at all. For the Thundra Plateau build, I cut down three trees, autobuilt another three to attach to it, then tried to use a ton of Stabilizers. for some reason, they hate stabilizing large columns of wood, so it didn't stay upright. I ended up with a stack of five wood and five Stabilizers, even though I was just using Ultrahand to hold it all.

I went ahead and grabbed an extra log for the third piece of the armor and leaned it against the pillar so that I could grab it from the top when I climbed up. Less steps, same result. Still thank you for the video. I really appreciate everything that you are doing to help us.

Hi Austin I saw someone put 4 logs together and attach a stake at one end, then he leaned the whole thing with the stake facing upward, he grabbed it from the stake and flipped it around while Link was standing on the pillar and inserted the stake into the pillar, then turned time to noon and it worked. I used a zonia stake on the side at the bottom it let me grab the logs move then half way up. climbed the piller and could grab the stake again. it'll go into the small rocks on top. no need for the quick hand timing. awesome video buddy keep cranking them out

For the thunder plateu all u have to do is connect 4 logs like a pole and then put one of them nail zonai things at the bottom of the pole then u can balance it on the tower

Hey easy way to keep the logs up for the shadow one is to stack them upright on a zonai stake and stab it in the pillar

Thanks this was very helpful. Btw for the mask the switching between ultra hand and recall was a great call. But after that what I did is instead of finding that sweet spot where the logs would just stay still i just held it in place with ultra hand. At first I wasn’t even sure if it would work I was just trying something different.

Once I tried it once and knew exactly where to go, I was able to glide down there and move the sword (already in the right position, just needed to slide it over with ultrahand) before the Gleeok started attacking me.

Make it easy on yourself for the last puzzle and insert a Zonai Stake into the top of the pillar. Hoist up your pre-built logs (combo of recall and ultra hand to get it lifted) and connect it to the stake, THEN use a fire to wait until noon.

For the mask of awakaning I used 12 to 15 zonai stakes, any less than 12 wouldnt work and any more than 15 would just break apart if it was moved

I cursed the small "nobb" they put on the column and tried to balance logs and rocks on top of it, always falling over. After 30 min or so I realized I could use the Stakes, which I never use normally. The shadow only need to touch the north column, not spann over to the north shadow.

Instead of using recall, if you attach a stake to the end of the six logs you can stake the logs into the ground upright, into the pillar, and then upright on top of the pillar without the logs falling over.

JUST FOUND A FORCE BLOOD MOON TRICK, Go to the island directly above the lookout landing settlement, and dive through the center. seems to cause a BloodMoon and reset player onto the island before the jump found it by messing around. Upvote if you can, everyone needs this edit: was able to repeat about 10 times then couldn't get it. seems you have to dive through the center of the island.

so I was really struggling with getting it to stay on the pillar but through my fumbling I found that you do not need to make the log stand on the pillar, only the shadow needs to touch so as long as the shadow touches it's fine, I was standing in front of the pillar trying to maneuver the logs in place again with ultra hand and the shadow happened to reach the north pillar and the gate opened.
