Sometimes you gotta let go of your crush so that you can focus on yourself and be a better person for others - trust me, it'll make you feel much happier in the long-term.. I was at a bad place around this time last year & I met the sweetest guy who made me smile just by existing. But I knew that it wouldn't be right to be with him because I was a broken person. I did not want him to complete me - I wanted to feel whole myself so I let him go.. it was one of the most painful experiences but in hindsight I'm proud of being able to find the courage and strength to put that energy on loving myself rather than someone else. Oh my gosh, I had the exact same situation! And then my crush started dating my best friend (I told her I had a crush and that he was showing signs he liked me but I didn't tell her that I had a crush on him so it was kinda my fault). It definitely hurt so much at first but I had the summer break to distance myself and think about why we weren't compatible in the first place. Damn, forget it man. Focus on your goals and career. I'm currently trying to get over my crush but she will always want to hug me whenever she sees me. It's so hard because deep down I really want her to be around and hug me for as long as it can last. She's been moved to a different class and hangs out with some new people but I can't help myself not to look at her.
