The problem with correcting white balance while your saturation is cranked, is that when you bring saturation back down your white balance will shift again. White balance should be corrected before saturation. I've also noticed that craning the saturation in FCPX the hues vs saturation do not increase uniformly. Some hues cap out others keep increasing unevenly, making the saturation value unreliable when fully cranked. Hue vs hue works fine though.

Thanks for the info! I’ll try it out. I usually crank it just to see where the lines fits. I bring it back down when I’m down matching the colors.

@@AndyTran yeah exactly that's what I wanted to do too! I think i cranked the saturation all the way, and still wasn't enough to reach the boxes, so i duplicated the saturation just for the purpose of getting the hues evenly spread, but then started noticing some hues would continue to stretch more than others. Made me not trust cranked editing except for lining up the hues
