This Video will walk you through all the necessary steps required to Synthesize Pure Silicon Dioxide From Ordinary Sand.
Silicon dioxide is used in the construction industry to produce concrete, in the production of glass, as a Sedative, in the production of elemental silicon, and as even an anti-caking agent in powdered foods like spices.
The Reagents needed for this experiment are:
-50g of sand.
-50g of Sodium hydroxide.
-300ml of water.
-3M hydrochloric acid.
-98% Sulphuric acid.

The answer is no, we can't use sodium peroxide instead of sodium hydroxide or hydrochloric acid instead of sulfuric acid. If there are other acid-insoluble materials present in sand, it would not affect the result, and to check the percentage of silica in acid-insoluble material, % SiO2 = [(weight of residue after heating - weight of original sample) / weight of original sample] x 100%.
