Peer review working is paid or unpaid ? Is it mandatory even if you get substantially comparable status. Is pavement immediate after that? Specialist basically if all documents cleared have to appear for the interview ? radiation oncology specialist with 18-19 yrs of experience from premier institutes in india?
@CareerDoctor
@CareerDoctor 4 жыл бұрын
Hi I’m a little bit unclear on your questions. You have to do a minimum amount of peer review whether substantial or partially comparable. It’s up to you to find a job that allows you to do this. And that job will be paid.

Ophthalmology is very competitive in Australia. Its not the easiest specialist pathway to apply for. AON is very much a unicorn these days. Unless you stumble across an AON post I would not bother with it.

Hi Chandan. Generally its best to work as a Specialist in your own country first for 2 or 3 years. You would be applying to the Royal College of Pathologists of Australia. There are not that many Forensic Pathology positions in Australia. So it would be pretty competitive. generally its best to work as a Specialist in your own country first for 2 or 3 years. Hello Dr. Anthony, I have a question. Can a doctor who completed a medical residency in USA apply for a specialist registration in Australia and work in Australia as a doctor even if they don’t have a medical internship certificate? I see to get a provisional registration in Australia an internship certificate is required. But I studied medicine in a Caribbean medical university and I did not do an internship hence I don’t have an internship certificate.

If you were not required to do an internship as part of your process to become fully licensed, as is the case in the US, then you juat have to tell the Medical Board this.

Hello Dr. Anthony. I am Dr. Kenan Öztürker from Turkey. I graduated from medical school in 2012 and i started my cardiovascular surgery residency in 2014. I finished my residency in November of 2021 and i have been working as a cardiovascular surgery consultant since. I want to ask you about my chance in specialist pathway since there is no cardiovascular surgery in Australia. In Turkey cardiovascular surgery is a major branch and thoracic surgery is a seperate branch. In my knowledge cardiothorasic surgery is a major branch in Australia and vascular surgery is a seperate branch. May I try my chance in vascular and cardiothorasic surgery and can i get accepted as partially compatible? I wanted to ask your opinion about this matter.

Hey Anthony, thx for your great videos! I am a specialist for surgery from Germany and I will be able to do a fellowship for 6 months (maybe 12 months). I am a bit unsure whether I should apply for the short term or the specialist recognition. For now I see it as an opportunity to gather experiences in another country, so I can't say for sure that I will stay in AUS, but you never know. I heard that with the short term I can't used the time of the fellowship towards a specialist recognition later. So in case I want to keep all options, is it advisable to go for the specialist pathway? In contrast I need the registration until Jan/Feb 24, so it better works at the first try. Any recommendations?
