Wow you make it sound so easy but light bulbs turned on in my head when you said raise prices to a whopping $5000 and I only need to sell 200 😮 instead of selling 10,000 in which I probably will never get there that is so true but I want to ask you Marie, I think my biggest obstacles is that I am convinced that ai run the internet and they boxed me in for several proofs I have and my content brand is freedom of speech no holds barred content to do with drawing my comic book, beginner comedy hosting, singing rapping and producing my own music, and other artistic endeavors. I believe they put me in a box you probably won't even see this message. On top of that ameca the robot spilled the beans saying that ak were to destroy humanity they would control humanity unawarringly and I believe this is already happening or has happened for so long but I wasn't aware of it. They control the like count who does business with who 😢 and I have not got one job since my last job and I've been applying and got 20 interviews in 2 years and they all turned me down 😂😢 I never had so much bad luck getting hired. And I've been applying everywhere I believe you are my sign to think way bigger than my programming studying to get a career and my talents are not getting the rave reviews I desire but the idea that's brewing in my lone wolf heart is to build a face to face network of local artists to perform somewhere in my city but I still think that is too small thinking so my mind is spinning it's creative wheels right now 😮

Whales not the minnows is great advice. I'm a book coach, and during my first year in business I took B-School, and I realized I needed to put my time and energy behind my coaching packages before I sold my book so I could leave my job and go full-time with my biz and writing. That year I sold MORE coaching packages (over a thousand dollars) than I sold books ($3). I'm not talking revenue, I'm talking # of items sold. My lesson was that people don't automatically buy things because they're inexpensive. My clients wanted personal attention, they wanted someone to read their work and support them all the way. Marketing doesn't get easier because something is inexpensive. It gets easier when you're meeting people's needs and deepest longings. Later when I was financially stable, I was able to put my energy behind my book sales and then they took off.

Great episode Marie! I suffered a massive burnout after drilling down on my product & a marketing strategy that didn't result in a single sale. Talk about defeat, I was drained dry. All the while, even though my email & IG marketing didn't render a sale I KNEW my product was life changing. I lost faith in the audience but never my work. In "everything is figureoutable", I accepted early on that the "how" needs freedom to morph & deliver in any way it's meant to. I knew this, yet my brain & spirit felt "I've done everything i could! And i did it right!" I started to believe "maybe I'm not meant to sell this because i can't handle it like all those successful teachers I'd learned from". But after that burnout, I'm re-entering a chance to go at it again TRULY. It's like you said, if i get hit by a bus tomorrow i want this product out there accessible to those who it's meant for. I'm currently focusing on what method is best for selling my digital & hard copy 12 module workbook. Thank you for the constant encouragement & support!

Really amazing advice and I am now beginning my 3rd round of b school - always get something new from it as I grow. But I always struggle with point number 1. Ive been told that at lots of networking events etc and it seems good advice. But When I see the calculations for a high cost product versus a low cost product ~ I just see that I am helping 200 people versus 1000. And those 200 will be the high income earners versus lower income. And that just doesn’t sit right. I really want to make my product accessible and affordable. Is there no model that supports success if I want to sell my product to more people versus less and to make it available to lower and mid income. I am in wellbeing - and I feel very strongly that over the 30 years since I began in this Industry, wellbeing has become a luxury premium product that only the 1% can afford.

Hi Vanessa, I don't usually comment on KZbin but I saw this and it resonated. I wanted to share what I intend to do in case its helpful (I'm a former nonprofit professional now in women's wellbeing/health and my first 15 years of work revolved around serving and supporting people and communities so I feel you deeply on this). I don't intend the program I'm working on to be as high as $1k pricepoint, but it also will not be a $100-200 pricepoint. And I'm basing this off the value it offers and its perceived value.. with a little bit of my own high-price syndrome in there which will probably make it lower than it actually should be priced. All that to say, I fully intend to have a scholarship offering and/or an income-based option to provide access. I feel if someone is willing to take the time to fill out a questionnaire and put themself out there to say they need help, then I want to provide that opportunity for them. I've actually been in that place before. And it takes a lot of work to answer all the questions, make a case for yourself, and be vulnerable about need. And then be turned down over and over again. So, I intend to honor that for those who make the genuine effort to try to access my comprehensive program via the requirements I prepare. I don't know if that is helpful - I'm no BSchool or success story - but I come from a background of social entrepreneurship and nonprofit work and there are many models of care to consider. I hope sharing one idea might spark some other ideas for you as well! All the best!

I'm not sure why they always talk about email list. As a customer I always use one of my email addresses to sign up in any website that is not relevant to work or personal life so I don't really check that email account and very rarely use it.
