An amazing video and all valid points. But few additions if I may.. 1. Though the 15 pension is not as good as the 75, it is still one of the best in the country. Considering you don't physically contribute your own money. 2. Please do not believe in the myth that you will have to wait till you are at state pension age (68 yrs) to get your army pension after a full army career (18 - 24yrs). Make sure you go on the armed forces pension calculator (on Gov.uk) to make projections based on your specific circumstance. I've seen people sign off at the 15 year point believing this myth and later finding out that an additional 3 yrs of service would have given them an Early Departure Pension of about £40k lump sum and a monthly payout of £450 - £600 (depending on rank) at a tender age of 42yrs. 3. If you plan on doing full service, get on the property ladder as soon as possible and aim at being mortgage free by the end of your career. Imagine living rent free plus your Early Departure Pension at the age of 50 or less. 4. Please don't live like a rich person on your army wages. You are not rich if you are not earning in your sleep. You are pre-broke; all it takes is a medical discharge or lack of enthusiasm in the army and you are back on earth struggling to survive. So please cut down on the overpriced bicycles and watches and save money. 5. You do get a lot of time off in the army. Please don't use it all on Netflix and chatting about women. Use your spare time to learn a skill. Eg. Web and graphic design, video editing, photography or even start a KZbin channel; or a social media following like Instagram. It might earn you something extra to push you towards financial freedom. 6. If you are a Commonwealth soldier coming from a developing country, remember your home country is still developing so you can build a business (to solve a problem) with a little amount of ££. And you don't even have to innovate, you can just mimic a working system in UK and implement it in your home country and voala, you have a business. If nothing, you can build units of 2 or 3 bedroom apartments (instead building a mansion) and use it as a rental property or Airbnb. Finally, your army career can be an illustrious one but remember it's a short one so be wise with your money.

This a long with not spunking it all is basically all one need to know. My dad was a submariner. He could organise 120 men to surface and hit a warship within 30 something seconds then disappear off the face of the earth within the minute. He runs his own wholesale business now but when he left he ended up being a security guard for a Butlins. No one's got any nuclear submarines in civvy street. I'm thinking of going air engineers.

@@buzzermonkey3213 You'll have to apply through the armies portal and apply as reserve ones you pass eligibility you can talk to a recruiter who will guide you through the process of finding the unit close to your where you can work as a reservist which means you can have a job outside the military but you can work there during your part time or when the army requires you.

Hell yeah brother vanguard lifestrategy 80 is what I’m doing, gonna try to max it out each year. It’s not even really a risk over 20+ years, just short term volatility. Oh yeah DONT buy cars, you don’t need them in the military and if you do make sure you can buy it at least 5 times but ideally 10

Lemme guess? You all keep hating on America for to this very day still having independence from Great Britain? Dude come in. It happened along time ago. It’s like you all are never going to get of it. I high doubt America will ever ask Great Britain to give up its independence and ask to rejoin the country of Great Britain. Maybe but I doubt it. We’ve gotten so used to independence it would actually be weird to go back to our original country of Great Britain.
