Yes no doubt you don't need a college degree to get that top 1% of jobs , but today still the rest 99% of companies do follow traditional college ,GPA , grade pattern ,aptitude entrance etc etc , hence it's better to maintain a good academic report as well and keep moving further rather than giving up on your academics/dropping out and completely focusing on skills .

Haha....you are wrong this time. Main thing school teaches is not physics social biology. It's discipline. Main thing College teaches is LIFE itself. Not electronics or computer science. A human being is a social animal. He can only evolve in group. Whether introvert or extrovert is a irrelevant. Without such tangible education system, people will become depressed and directionless full of anxiety. Seen it many times.

@@thisisajaym How can you miss exactly what I said. Money is not for textbooks or reading material. It's for classroom experience. Being with a peer group, forming social bonds, learning to manage friendships, knowing the difference between what is bad and good. What real real real life ? As if school is fake life? Real life will always be there. School is part of real life. You can skip formal education, but do it independently, without ridiculing school education.

Sir , I agree that college degree doesn't matter but in the real life scenario when you are doing something away from college degree and your friends are pursuing formal education and getting placements , this creates FOMO and lot of mental pressure from our peers and parents.

Here's my point of view: 1. Don't do a job because its giving 30-40 lakhs , eventually all that money will be useless if you're not happy with your life, this is the reason we live in the world where most people are unhappy despite having better access to most things. 2. College degrees matter for few jobs even in today's world for example if someone wants to be an Architect in AI & ML they need to have a PhD, you can check verify on any companies (including companies mentioned by Akshat) career pages. So it's totally dependent on what kind of field you're looking to get in. 3. The biggest problem I see when I'm hiring anyone is the lack of soft and presentation skills. Technichal skills will get you to certain level beyond that its all about how well you communicate.

While your point may be correct theoritically , its questionable whether it would hold true for India in next 25 Years or so . Though necessarily it can't be said for developed western countries , since traditionally they have always put a premium on skills than degree . In India you can't get an entry without a degree , so the question of evaluating on the basis of past experience doesn't arise . And where will you showcase your skills without an exposure , which becomes difficult without a degree ? Therefore please make the videos more region specific , else youngsters may be misguided .

Hey Akshat, I would love to know your opinion about the tech industry. As in do you think software folks are paid more or less at an entry level, since companies(I am not just talking about FAANG but even mid sized companies )are paying 15-20lpa to BTech grads(even from tier 3 colleges)in India. Do you think in the long run developers will be so highly paid or its because at the moment there is so much demand and less supply, thats why they are paid so highly. Also do you think something like the dot com bubble could happen again? I think this could be an interesting case study.

When I was learning man dream I was not very sure only on the basis of this language what kind of job I might get. Of course my parents wanted me to get into a government job (there are many government agencies who require people with Mandarin fluency). But unfortunately despite having continuous clash with China the rules in government agencies have almost vanished in last 4-5 years. Also there's cast based reservations. Now I was thinking about doing an MBA but from Europe (Germany preferred). I know you don't recommend any country where I need to learn the language but I was willing to take that language learning challenge. Now gradually I have started feeling that since I already have a decent paying job in India maybe I can start learning something online which will compliment my Mandarin speaking capability. Just wanted to know if you have any recomndaion for me . By the way I'm super interested to mobile industry and have worked for almost two and half years with brands like oppo and xiaomi.

The points are enhancement of skills and knowledge. For all that you need is have good formal education on a regular basis. The best and most correct way (i feel) is formal schooling. Where all basic values, discipline, character building, and so many. Then i agree what most of your points are like enhancing you skills and knowledge. Here very important point is we are surrounded by information obsessiveness. The hard and important part is implementation in real world. That make person success. Mere knowing is no /hardly any. 👋

Online education is incomplete learning ! Programming, finance and data science will not cover everything. You need hands on training for product development, which is not possible without a physical lab in college/university.
