Thank you. I discovered just how bad Mine was yesterday and I was so shocked I cried.

Two cowlicks in the back!!! 😭😭 I never knew my hair was curly until at home bleaching to get rid of box dye that fried my hair. So started the Curly Girl Method to get healthy hair again and the curls made their appearance. The struggle has been the back of my crown area with huge separation in my hair, large "back part". Sectioning while applying product helps, diffuse til almost dry then use large alligator clips to lift the top of the cowlick and insert the alligator clips horizontally. Takes three clips left in for about 20 minutes. I can only dream of having day three hair like yours! Really appreciate all your tips. I refer to your video on the different parting techniques often! My three cowlicks in the back and the one in my bangs make up their own rules and those rules seem to change without notice too!

I don't have curly hair, My hair is just on the messy wavy side, but I have that EXACT spot!! My stylist said that its a double crown, but when I looked that up, I was pretty positive that it was not a double crown, but maybe a cowlick, and I just found you!! Thank you for this video! I've tried EVERYTHING!!!

You are so welcome, Theresa! I’m glad it was helpful. My cowlick sure surprised me when I found it 😆 Now that I know it’s there, I can make sure to style it away with these tips. Wishing you easy hair days from now on!

I searched out your page bc my hair thinned out with menopause and I was looking for styles to hide my"double crown" or cowlick on the back of my head. I will try using clips before I diffuse. I also have them on either side of my temples but those have never bothered me. Thank you so much for all your style tips!

Great, I hope these tips will help! Cowlicks can be tricky, but most of the time they can be styled away 😉 I always have my hand mirror to check the back!

I hate trying to cover that spot. Sometimes I use Bobby pins in hidden clever ways. Often doesn’t work. These tips help.

Yes, I never knew I had a cowlick until I was trying to style upside down. Many curlies have great results with that technique, but apparently, my hair needs a little more attention ☺️

I have long 3a/3b curly hair & a few months ago is when I really took notice of how weird & thin the the crown area & the surrounding side hair was looking at the top. It’s was an extremely flat transition up to the mid shaft & ends to where it was very full & curly. Definitely looked like a pyramid at the back. I was to the point I was wondering if I was balding! So being extremely bothered, I started looking more closely & noticed my hair is randomly parted in different ways & the curls at the roots are laying FLAT to ONE side!! I had the exact same reaction as yours! I was honestly like how DARE you!! So then in disbelief I started using my fingers to separate these areas/finger-comb them from the root downwards just to see what happened & MY HAIR STARTED LOOKING NORMAL! Full curl from root to tip! Then upon further research via google/KZbin, I figured out I had these “cowlicks” this whole time & I can’t tell you how frustrated yet relieved I was to figure this out. Idk when my hair started separating like this, but I’m glad that there are videos like yours to help me with this issue. Thank you! ❤️

I have the very same cowlick and it drives me crazy! I wear my long hair in half up almost all the time to cover it. I would love to wear my hair down at least some of the time but that cowlick is always there and its not a good look.

@@TheCurlStoryI see that some of the buffs you have links to are polyester/spandex. I always hear to do silk or satin for sleeping. Have you found that to be true? Or are the polyester blends ok?

I have really bad cowlicks on the back of my head. What makes it worse is how super fine and thin my hair is. I have not figured out a way to prevent them yet, even though I have been aware of them for several years. They bug me! Still trying.

Hi Anna, you are not alone in this struggle. I hope this videos gives you more remedies to try! My cowlick is vertical, so when I’m applying my stylers, I apply them to horizontal sections of hair. This helps to prevent the cowlick pattern from setting in. Sending good hair vibe wishes to you!✨

I get this same thing on the back of my hair too. I’ve got wavy, frizzy hair and nothing hides it. Also if I don’t shampoo at least every day, on the every other day - my hair in this area will actually start to hurt! WHY?

Hair follicles can be so sensitive! Definitely do what make you and your hair feel best. I hope these tips help! A half-up hairstyle is my go-to for a quick way to hide 🫣 it for the day ☺️

Think about it like this: have you ever noticed anyone else’s cowlick? No because you don’t focus on those things about other people. No one notices these things other than yourself :)

There is a crazy fact about cowlicks, people in India (TN) would say, the number of cowlicks you have = Number of partners you would have. It's dumb, ikr.😝
