Wow thank you so much!! I used all of your lawn tips this week and it completely transformed our yard!! Before I never wanted to sit outside because there were so many gnats and mosquitoes and now when I go out there it’s bug-free!! THANK YOU!

Happy this worked out for you. Depending how hot it is and how how much it rains, you may need to treat your yard again. Just to give you reference, I treat my yard every 3 months to keep pest at bay.

How is sevin after it rains? I used off backyard spray which is great but after it rains it’s like I never sprayed
@TheALG2 жыл бұрын
Light rain, its fine but heavy rain you lose effectiveness. I usually try not to apply if there is rain in the forecast or if it did rain alot, I reapply.

Great video! I throw away my disposable fly traps when the weather begins to cool and fewer flies are present. Otherwise, I've found that if I continue to add water to the existing trap, it works no matter how many 100's of flies are floating around in the water. I don't care about the presentation of dead flies in the bag because it's outside.
@TheALG3 жыл бұрын
Interesting, I will try adding more water as it starts to dry out.

Awesome video Mr.… Quick question though how do you get rid of those little black gnats flying your eyes and face when you’re running through wet grass
@TheALG4 жыл бұрын
Gnats need moisture to reproduce so getting rid of moisture around the home is helpful. Try using the product Sevin hose end and spray everywhere and everything outside the home.

Have you found an effective alternative to the Waste Management spray? From what I’ve seen, it looks like the product may have been discontinued.

Odoban is a product I use in my garbage cans. It a disinfectant and does a decent job of odors. Doesn't completely eliminates though.

I grow my own vegetables and have a hummingbird and lots of birds that feed in my garden will this be harmful to them? If so do you have a video with stuff. I can used that won't harm them? I've used 7 but it didn't help at all. I should say I live out in the woods.
@TheALG3 жыл бұрын
Your situation is unique and finding the balance between killing bugs and preventing harm to wildlife is tricky. I know Sevin is safe to use on vegetables but there are minimum days that must pass before you can harvest any edibles. I dont have any good recommendations for you except to shop around for products and read the labels to make sure it is a good fit for your situation. There are organic solutions but I find they are not as effective but its probably going to be your only option. You can look into Dr Earth yard and garden insect killer and other Dr Earth products.

God bless thank you so much I'll look into that.

Thanks for the video. I have a smaller backyard with a pool. Do you have any suggestions on how to manage bugs without primarily relying on insecticides? I am trying to avoid the chemical getting into the pool.
@TheALG3 жыл бұрын
Try planting natural plants around the pool which naturally repel bugs. Examples are lavender and citronella plants. If I had a pool I would still consider insecticides but be more target on where you spray. A backpack sprayer is your best option.

No problem, alot of these chemicals are safe to walk on once they have dried. I think you should be ok once you allow the chemicals time to dry out and avoid hose end sprayers.

What tips do you have for gnats that continue to come over from the surrounding neighbor’s yard? Is there any hanging deterrent lamps that you recommend to keep them away?
@TheALG2 жыл бұрын
There are multiple things you can try but more importantly, gnats are drawn to moisture and rotten food. Make sure you don't have anything that will attract them. Bug zappers will work against them but they will attract them and other bugs near your property. I have lavender plants around my patio and this seems to keep them away and it works very well. Dynatrap is also a good area bug killer but it needs to be on 24/7. If you have gnats coming inside, there are traps you can make such as sweet red wine and a few drops of dish soap in a covered bowl with holes. Fruit fly traps are also good for indoors and you can pick those up easy from local stores. After doing all these, best way to prevent them is to get rid of moisture and food sources.

Omg this video needs more views! This is hilarious! I love how you put this together. Makes gardening fun, thanks. 😁 But you will have better luck with the water bag if it's a bigger bag, least that's what I usually see around here in our woods.

Thanks for the kind words, I will definitely try a bigger bag.

Actually you should not throw those bags away. Take the plastic entrance piece out of the bag and reuse it in a plastic bottle hotglued to it or something and refill it with eggmix( find recipie in youtube). I used it in my yard when flys got my apples and just attacked me in thousands. I just went to my yard, placed the bottle away and took the swarm of flys to the bottle with my body and most of them went into the bottle immediately. Like magic. Thatway I rid my yard from flies almost entierly.

I just wonder. These products are safe for pet and kids...? They play on lawn.
@TheALG2 жыл бұрын
Most products have a minimum off time. Meaning you need to wait until the products have dried before doing anything. I usually wait for about half a day. I definitely understand your concern and it is a valid concern.
