Saying there’s no danger at heights is crazy to me, my mind purely goes to the most rare incidents. For example I went skiing and couldn’t handle the chairlifts because I went straight to the thought of slipping out, the chairlift coming off the railing etc etc. I know in myself it’s a one in a million chance but it’s so hard to tell yourself that one isn’t your situation

Same. My mind always thinks of the worst possible outcome from things not the actual most likely outcome

I don't know why I'm scared I guess it's because Im a positive person but I think negative so if I'm up high I feel like: what if it breaks, what if we get stuck up here, what if it Falls, what if the seatbelt isn't buckled, it's all that stuff that scare me

It's about risk assesment, not many people think that things have a higher chance of going wrong when you are at a height. Something like, ignorance is bliss. The fact is, when you are at a height, you have lesser chance to adjust to "unexpected" scenarios. For example, wind blows? Your leg shakes? Blood sugar levels? Heart attack? Cramps? Injuries? If you are close to a reliable ground, you can hope to just deal with what's wrong. But if you are at a height, there is a higher chance that you will be dealing with a fall to the death, instad of the actual causes. So brain is evaluating all of those and sometimes it's just not worth risking it. And fear of heights is another risk, because if you are afraid too much, your brain actually prevents you from moving further, because it thinks it's suicide one way or the other. I'm not sure how effective "mind conditioning" can be. After all, the risks are still there, that are not necessarily under your own control.

James Kingston, who climbs really high cranes, Dubai skyscrapers, Eiffel Tower etc. used to be scared of heights. That’s crazy to me. If he can get over it, maybe I can.

Thanks for your video. About height, I get fully get the difference between fear and danger, and the fact that the body can do a lot. I am perfectly ok when there is absolutely no danger. On the basis of the worst case scenario, I think I foresee the danger too easily. How to be less worst case like … on a small path aside mountain’s void that other people seem perfectly ok with?
