The very best and NATURAL way to combat green water in my opinion after fighting it now for years. IS Freshwater muscles, I have 20 large ones in my pond, i have never had green water again. Just make sure you have enough sand to cover them during the cold @t pumps, no filters. Just, Fresh water muscles.

I started my pump up last weekend. Added beneficial bacteria. I got coarse. Fine and charcoal filters. With about 900 bio balls in mesh bags. It's been a week. And I noticed a large buildup of green all over my bioballs. My question is. Do I rinse these balls at all during the running season? I know I should use the same pond water in a separate bin to gently shake loose / clean the filter media. But should it be done? Or just leave it alone until the cold months? Thankyou.

Do not refill with tap water, the water will go green. Use rain water or natural spring water.

i had a uv light but die on me .so i never brought nother one ,but my pond so green how can i get rid of it . i have brought green stuff u put in pond but its been killing my fish of so i stop doing it do u think if i get a new uv ligh will help it

Did the UV light keep the water clear when it was working? If it did, it's just easier(and healthier for the pond) to get a new UV light and replace it.

Those bacteria, take it from a natural pond. Take some crystal clear water in that pond and transfer it to yours. You get free good bacteria then.

Good tip. I personally like to get a couple of litres of sediment from the shallows of a healthy aquatic system, that way it seeds your pond with a wide diversity of aquatic organisms
