Great info you gave! I have seborrheic dermatitis and I *can not* use oil on my scalp. No carrier oils or essential oils even diluted at just 1%. It all burns and inflames my scalp. This just developed with my 2nd set. I had no problems with my first set which I had for 12 years. It's been frustrating but I'm not giving up. Just drastically have had to change my routine and use shampoo prescribed by my dermatologist. I can't go more than 10 days without shampooing (at which time I *absolutely* wash my bonnet). I fully believe there are holistic things I can be doing and I tha k you for the gentle reminder.

I wish I could remember the KZbinr that said use Cortizone cream and you don’t have to use a lot. Just put some on the tips of your fingers run it down your scalp and it absolutely works. I still use castor oil but not a lot.

My son is having the exact same problem. He's 11 and have been locs since age 4. He had long healthy locs but now he has crown damage from scratching! I've tried all kind of no itch products, nothing works
