All of my hair around the perimeter of my head fell out after I had my baby. My locs looked they they were hanging by 5 strands of hair 😭😭 thankfully I didn’t lose any locs and my hair is back thick enough on the edges to where I was able to repair those locs BUT now that new hair grows away from my locs which didn’t happen before. These were some awesome tips!!! I did the finger wrapping and a braid out last night with some big plats. Took them out today and my hair looks so much better without having to put all that tension and product in my hair. And I actually like this look better than a fresh retwist. THANK YOU X A MILLION!!!!!!! I had to come find this video again to like and leave a comment after I saw how my hair came out lol

STOP CONSTANTLY TWISTING LOCS, STOP CONSTANTLY COLORING LOCS, STOP WEARING OVER TIGHT STYLES, STOP USING BLEACH😮 THESE THINGS WILL KILL YOUR HAIR. LET YOUR HAIR REST😮 LET IT DO WHAT IT DOES. P.S. STOP OVER WASHING HAIR 😮 YOUR HAIR NEEDS TIME TO ABSORB THE NUTRIENTS, TRY USING SCARFS, SCRUNGES, BANDANAS, WRAPS, FOR STYLING THOSE BEAUTIFUL LOCS SOMETIMES😊, STAY HYDRATED😊

I have a hard time even parting my roots. My new growth is gray and completely different texture. It’s frizzy almost like wire if that makes sense. I don’t want to color my hair I live the gray but it looks like I have a short gray Afro under my locks.

Thanks for sharing, this video. It was helpful to me. Washing my hair is not helping with the locking process. Certain sections of my hair are locking just fine, but I appreciate you saying not all tips and tricks are going to work. I am on the finer/ low density side as far as hair texture is concern. Going to my loc specialist this weekend. We need to discuss somethings to help me. I am committed just need to change my hair routine.

Remember, if you bleach your hair too much (never bleach more than twice in the same year) your dreads will thin really quickly.

This is great! What about if you crochet maintenance? I do that and after about a month, the front where my locs are smaller start separating and joining but I’m too scared about damage to crochet them at that point, so I wait another month. Is this okay to do? Would I risk more damage with crochet maintenance if I do it monthly?

What is "loc rubbing"?
@Windsingerful Жыл бұрын
Does she mean “locsmithing”? Or palm rolling lightly in that area to “rub” the hairs in the right direction, to stick together?

She doesn’t explain what loc rubbing or compression is

@@NolaMarieSings01she does… Loc rubbing is loc smithing and compression is a style the keep the hairs in place with the loc like two strand twist for example.

I get alot of new growth but my locs look the same length forever which is shoulder length. is taking hair vitamins good for growth of locs? so...im wondering...is there any combination of herbs you would recommend to make a tea to rinse your scalp and/or locs with? rosemary, rose petals, rosehips are the 3 things ive been playing around with and have seen a WORLD of difference! im sure theres more out there i havent tried to add to the arsenal yet that are worth giving a shot, but rosemary has been a true blessing and i really dont see many people talk about tea rinses. would love your opinion bc your locs are gorgeous and the minimal herbs ive tried have been a real game changer. the way ive been doing it is on wash day i make 2 big batches of the tea and set it aside to cool, then i wash with castille soap and rinse it out super well, then rinse my scalp with one batch of tea, then dunk my dreads in the second batch. after its dry i mainly use jamaican black castor oil on my parts to redirect the new growth, and ive been really happy with this routine. thoughts? ideas?
