I have these in my building and there's nothing I can really do to completely rid myself of them since it's a massive 22 floor apartment complex that hundreds of people live in, and they most likely enter my unit through someone else's. Every time I see one it pisses me off and ruins my day

good video. i have a 120 yr old carriage house its basically a garage with a unfinished upstairs. roof is dripping. birds are getting in through the fascia. shitting all over the place. noticed silverfish inside. cant get rid of them until i get a new roof(never going to happen) and seal the fascia so the birds stop coming inside

@MelodicsRareMusicVid Жыл бұрын
@@linctexpilot8337 its on my bucket list still lol. have alot to do. quote for a new roof is around 20k and thats the lowest ive found and i dont have 20 grand. got more important stuff to fix first on the main house. put some aluminum fiber on it for now. got all the birds out. been painting and sealing all around it. 2k sq ft house and 1200 sq ft garage is hard to get done alone. anyways the silverfish have been minimal to none compared to last year. ive only seen them outside on the walls in 100% humidity in the unpainted areas that i havent got to yet. as far as inside ive seen prob less then 10. and 3 of them were from a flash flood i had some cardboard on the ground and when i threw that out they were underneath it. ive rented a dumpster and cleaned the entire upstairs threw everything out. threw out most the old insulation on the roof. used a shop vac and cleaned every single corner possible and threw about tons of bags of nesting etc. took a scrub brush and scrubbed all the wood that had any sort of droppings. also doing more research norway had a huge silverfish problem. turns out there are multiple species. there is one species that breeds like crazy insane youll see them nonstop. and another species that youll spot here and there about as much as any other bug similar to earwig spottings. all these websites try to scare you into getting their treatments and paying thousands.

One of the best ways I have found…. Moth balls!!! Place them under your mattress, in draws, under the silk… so forth. And finally crush the moth balls, and place the powder all around the rooms cracks “for example the cracks dividing the wall, and the floor”…. Every night rub yourself with lavender oil mixed with your body lotion so they will stay far away from you, and your laundry basket do to the leftover scent… Wash your floors and walls with bleach water, everyday for at least a week. Put dried whole cloves, crushed cinnamon sticks, and lavender stems all over your home in little drawstring bags in the couch, under your bed, in your closet you name it. Spoil yourself with scented candles, and defusers they hate strong scents… Get a night lap in the rooms they are most present as they hate light. It’s a process but once they are gone it is so worth it, plus this will keep them from ever coming back repeat this at least every 3 months.

Building managers are crooks. Don't feel bad for them, they make a living off of enabling crappy owners. Feel bad for the little critters, the silverfish. They're harmless and probably doing a lot more good than the building manager & owner. Keep your floors clean and they'll go somewhere else to find food.
