This is so helpful! I have a container by my frontdoor and that seems to be the only one that is always attacked by these critters. I have some hebe and carex in there now, they don’t seem to like the hebe, the carex is a bit of an experiment!

I'm glad that you found this video helpful! Haha yes they are quite gourmet creatures 😂 On my balcony there's plenty of them yet they only eat 3 or 4 specific plants. I don't think they like ornamental grasses, I haven't seen them on any of mine.

They’re back…. 😢 They have been eating my lilac tree, my euonymus and my ivy. I got some nematodes but they are for the grubs so I won’t be able to use them just yet.

I got attacked last summer....a small balcony garden like yours. I was picking off at least 10 a night for several weeks! The whole thing creeped me out! Anyway, I used Bug Clear....and then in nematodes in the autumn....thought they were gone but saw one the other night....I could have cried! Time for more nematodes!

Ugh I hear ya! Unfortunately, they they are weirdly attracted by potted plants and seem to come back every year. I just noticed them this week on my Hydrangeas, so I'm doing late night patrols with a flashlight in my hand 😅

@@17m2garden oh no....I feel your pain. For me, it's my bay hedge....they have absolutely decimated it. I thought you were very zen in your video....I get totally freaked out when I go out to pick them off...the way they just appear out of nowhere and then play dead....just applied nematodes tonight....hope I don't see any more for a long time. Best of luck!

Oh no! That's a bummer 😕! But nematodes will surely help!

They are in my pots too. Found very few at night, found some during the day. They have completely eaten the roots of my beautiful violas. Ive tried the nematodes. Ive now bought another liquid vine weevil killer solution to try. Going to replace compost in all my pots too (theres a lot as i have no garden just a concrete path which ive lined with pots & tubs as my 'garden') What with removing slugs & snails & now weevils - its a full time job 😢

Hi! I am sorry to hear that! Nematodes work, but the way you use them determines whether they are effective or not. It is crucial to choose the right amount of nematodes for the size of the garden, you can buy 1 million, 5 million etc . The packaging always says how many m² it is for. Diluting them properly is also important. If you have too weak a solution it will not be effective. August/September, is the right moment to treat vine weevil grubs, applying before will not be effective. You also must use the nematodes immediately after delivery and keep the soil moist after application to keep the nematodes alive. If done correctly, this process is very effective 👌! Hope you can overcome your vine weevil infestation 🤞

@17m2garden thank you. I did buy smallest size (cost) & used only in 2 pots but used them early June, so wrong time.
