I've been having the best luck of my life with this game. Honestly, this game makes shiny hunting fun I’ve been soft-resetting hundreds of times and hatching thousands of the same egg for a handful of sittings and the only times I got shinies were still just by pure encounter chance. It was mindlessly mundane and this is such a nice change of pace

I CAN CONFIRM, that you do NOT have to save and SR for hunting alpha shiny pokemon. You can fly over them, then headback to Jubilife and repeat and it will be a different pokemon of the same pokemon (if that makes sense). I have gotten MULTIPLE shiny alphas by doing this and you save around 33 secs worth of loading screen time

Ig its just the lazy way. Another way that works for me and others is to faint the alpha you’re hunting and sleep at a nearby camp to reroll the alpha I was able to get an alpha Empoleon and alpha Scyther this way

Didn’t see it mentioned anywhere, but the easiest way to catch alphas is to use one of the cakes that is their favorite then sneak behind them with a heavy/leaden/gigaton ball. I’ve been able to catch alphas like the 85 alpha garchomp in one pokeball without having to fight it

Or use the sticky ball item and then when the mon is dazed go behind and throw a ultra ball since you can buy those. I don't know why people aren't using the confuse items that much, you just need 3 sticky balls to render an alpha defenceless and 1 sticky ball if you don't catch it. Have been doing that with Blissey to farm candy and normally I just use 1 ultra ball and I can get as close as I want to any alpha safely.

For anyone wondering why the save methods are different. From what I can tell, "event" spawns such as outbreaks are determined when you enter the village whereas normal map spawns are determined when you enter the area. This same method works for farming "rare" spawns such as the sinnoh starters etc. ***disclaimer*** I'm just playing the game having fun. No actual research done, just trying to prevent the "why is this method different" questions. Edit:- spelling

Maybe I am wrong but I found it’s generally faster to check if the alpha is shiny, then fast travel back to camp and then back to jubilife and then re-go in. Rinse and repeat. This seems to be quicker than soft resetting the game

For new underleveled trainers, just catch a low level drifloon that have confusion. Bring it to alpha heracross and breeze through it like a champ. Turns out alpha heracross attacks don't affect drifloon. Drifloon being ghost type and heracross uses normal type attacks.

This guide is 100% correct about saving in Jubillife! I was previously doing outbreaks wrong by saving in Jubilife and farming the same outbreak over and over, and somehow I ended up getting a full odds shiny on route to the outbreak I was headed too 😂 (I got a shiny starly on my route to a shinx out break if anyone was curious lmaoo)

I have done a little research and found you DO NOT need to reload for alpha shiny hunting. Going back to jubilife is faster than reloading and rerolls the static alpha

So tip I found out for myself to help me catch that lvl 60 Alakazam in the First region. Was a combination of Leaden ball which is better with a back strike and then a razz berry which increases catch chance. I was able to catch Alakazam one time shot. Just save beforehand and if run out of supplies then reset. Unless you're strong enough to fight then fight it.

The Yanmega in crimson mirelands was shiny for me once. Its level 58 and severely outleveled me and i didnt have ultra balls yet so i couldnt catch it. As for normal shinies, i have a bibarel, golbat and remoraid so far

I have 5 shiny Pokémon so far: The guaranteed ponyta (now rapidash), bronzong, machamp (caught as machoke), a shiny ALPHA growlithe (now arcanine), and my first shiny in the game was a FULL ODDS 1/4096 GASTLY (now gengar and was on my main team until I got the other 2 starters cause I needed coverage 😅)

I just got my first shiny alpha. I went for Ninetales since it's one of my favorite Pokemon and foxes are my favorite animal. I had the best odds in my favor, since I aimed for the shiny charm after beating the game (the remainder of which didn't take too long, since I did most of the completion while playing through it) and perfected Ninetales' entry. I was resetting for 15-20 minutes before I encountered it.

I just started and I am in the first expedition. I got my Alpha Luxio with a PokeBall (since it's the only available PokeBall so far) using my lvl 36 Typhlosion. I might try and get a Shiny Alpha Luxio using this method so I can continue my journey with a Shiny Alpha Luxray. Thank you for this video.

I got my first shiny alpha yesterday I was hunting alpha scythed but got shiny alpha drifloom which I do have level 10 research but no shiny charm so it was pretty rare

My first shiny alpha was a random find. Carnivine. Random but honestly I thought it was pretty rad. My second was Shinx. Shiny alpha Shinx, I found it in an outbreak and I was stoked. I’ve been trying for a Magikarp for 3 days now. I’ll try this method, thank you.

Surprisingly, my first shiny alpha was during an outbreak and it was for Riolu. 😂 I wasn't trying to get an alpha shiny, just a normal shiny, and I dropped my controller, disconnecting it entirely, which had me weeping and scurrying to try and get my controller on again to save in case I KO'd it. I definitely want to try this shiny alpha method though! These alpha's are set so you don't have to try and force spawn them in. They already are there. Can't wait to try this out. I just spend about 30 mins throwing balls at the shiny alpha Snorlax that randomly popped up on the way to the Luxio Mass Encounter. I had a research level of 2, that was literally a ~1/4000. But that satisfaction when I got it.. That is what makes shiny hunting worth it.

Just accidentally found a shiny alpha scizor (which is totally going to become a shiny alpha Kleavor, how could it not). To be honest, I’ve been staying in the first zone to try and 100% the obsidian fields before continuing the story. So far, I have a fair few shinies (2 bidoof, a lickitung, my boy and the free ponyta), which is an amazing change from my regular luck. Honestly, this game has me the most pumped I’ve ever been for Pokémon. I’ve racked up 33 hours in the last 4 days alone.

Just a question for my understanding: Do I have to Reset the game to let the alpha respawn? Because if not... wouldn't it be way more efficient to just travel back to the village? It seems to be quicker than resetting.
