How to Get Shiny Meloetta, No DLC Needed

To Al's point about not needing to put a lot of effort in to evolve Pokémon for dex completion if you have a lot of candy: can confirm. I got Shiny Meloetta between the announcement and this episode going up. It took some dedicated time, but as far as evolving a Bellsprout into a Weepinbell for example, it was a matter of 1 or 2 L Candy for almost any evolution requirement that I needed to fulfill.

I actually *love* that you need to register every pokemon with an SV origin mark. Original form Magearna is your reward for a living dex, Meloetta is the reward for completed SV dexes.

The shiny Meloetta grind isn't too bad to me. I (sometimes) like having mundane gaming tasks while I watch a show or listen to a podcast

I enjoy checking things off of lists and organizing things so Meloetta stuff is great for me. I’m one of those people who didn’t catch any old Pokémon in SV because I had a Living Pokédex.

around 1:28:30 "you can't have them open at the same time" I have had both Mobile Pokémon Home and Switch Pokémon Home open simultaneously this week while I was working on the Pokémon with the Terastal/Gen 9 mark dex completion task. However, it wouldn't update in-real-time, so after making deposits from Scarlet/Violet into Home, I would then exit out of Home on my phone and then re-open it to see the updates to my Kitikami dex or whatever.

I also not only enjoy dmax in Go but also think the way they implemented it makes sense. I’ve gone back and forth on Reddit with ppl explaining in detail why it makes sense from many different angles and can’t bring myself to write it up again however. I also don’t hold back criticism of Niantic but the online discourse around the game is just a pile-on at this point. Ppl surround themselves with negative opinions and get stuck in this negative mindset where they see everything as bad, terrible, ruining the game etc. They comment negative stuff and further feed the negativity monster for everyone else. I find this negative discourse “ruins the game” more for me than most things Niantic has done. I’m not part of other gaming communities but understand this is common elsewhere but I just have to keep myself away from online discussions beyond news or the occasional thoughtful balanced criticism.

i Have an issue that they do not let me change nickname of said Meloetta in pokemon let be real she needs the name Hatsune Miku because that pokemon is model after the hatsune miku idol from japan i am torn they do not have nickname option on pokemon yet i tried to see if in switch version of pokemon would let me do it but they did not have option please let me know and see why niatic would do such a thing

Gotta disagree - the mobile version of Pokémon Home feels like a massive downgrade to the Switch version. There are no boxes, the only "form" of organization you can have with the mobile is through tags and even then they're not very good. The mobile version is only good to check which pokémon you already have or not without having to exit out of a game in the Switch, otherwise it's rather pointless.

They said they aren’t doing them last week in the comments. Steve already has a good relationship with the Pokémon company, no reason to risk that over a couple extra views. I know they talked about legends Arceus leaks before but that was a couple days before release, not the result of a massive hack of the company.

As a general rule I don't believe Steve likes talking about leaks. For the 3 years I've been listening to the podcast in general I remember hearing him talk about the fact that a leak may or may not exist, but never the contents of them (apparently with the exception of Legends: Arceus)
