Hi Kim! Yes that was very helpful. I haven’t heard of these exercises so I’m going to try them out for a few weeks worth of practice. I’d say my playing level is above intermediate but I don’t know how much. I hope you create some more tutorials. You have a very calm and patient way of speaking and explaining. :)

Thanks Kimberley for the clear demonstration on smooth bow changes. I have a question if you can help me. what % does the violin contributes to produce a smooth/good sound. Does a better quality violin can produce a better sound than a cheap quality or can a good player can make a cheap violin sound better ?
@kimikele943 жыл бұрын
That's a good question! I think it can go both ways. A better quality violin will help anyone sound better but a good player can make anything sound good too. The best is if you have a good player with a good quality violin! :)

Hi there, awesome tutorial. You've explained very clearly. I tried doing it, however my thumb and my pinky always slipped out of the original position. How can I fix that?
@kimikele944 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much for watching! Try using a bow hold buddy to help keep the right shape when you practice (can search on amazon), wrapping a pipe cleaner around your pinky to keep it on top, or using a corn cushion to lock the pinky in place. I hope that helps :)
@Toltecgrl5 жыл бұрын
How do you get your violin tuned? Is there a certain tuner you use? I bought one on Amazon but it doesn’t work right.
@kimikele945 жыл бұрын
Hmm, any chromatic tuner should work. Try finding one on your smart phone and if that doesn't work you can search a for a korg tuner/metronome on amazon. That's my favorite because it's both a tuner and a metronome in one :)

i’m having trouble just bending my fingers and pulling the bow towards my palm, whenever i bend my hand with the proper bow hold my pinky finger stays straight, which just makes the tip of the bow go up because my pinky is holding the frog down. do you have any tips for me? i really need help with this because i can’t get past the first exercise

Hello chirag here from 🇮🇳 india ...your lesson is very much helpful for me ..but i have one problem with my violin that the 3 string vibrate more when it plays open why it is happening ?
@kimikele944 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching my tutorial! Are you saying that when you play the open strings, they are louder than if you put your fingers on them?
@chiragjain29724 жыл бұрын
@@kimikele94 no no I m saying that when I play 3 string open some scratch sounds comes but when finger is placed then normal sound comes
@chiragjain29724 жыл бұрын
@@kimikele94 some vibration sound like scratches sound is coming ....is there any problem in the string ? Or do you have any solution to solve this problem ?😅
@kimikele944 жыл бұрын
@@chiragjain2972 Hmm so when you play the open A string there is a scratchy sound? That is probably just a problem with the string. Try getting new strings or better quality strings and see if that helps. If not, then it might be how much pressure you're putting on it with the bow. I hope that helps!
