I made by mistake similar photo, few days ago, and i didn't know that. Again and another very good video. About the sun and damage, i saw that in 2 case, that is for the whole day, with Sony A7R IV and i was with 16-35 F4 The sun was harsh and it was at the sea, so there was some reflection, the EVF was a bit like trembling, like you know when you shoot another screen the flickering. Good that i was not with the 100-400 GM chasing some little bird :) Seems people aren't much educated about sun/damage or like a friend on a night club (Lasers vs Camera - 1:0 for the lasers)

Taking short exposures with the sun in the shot are fine with small apertures and wide lenses...it will only cause damage when the sun is high in the sky and you use a telephoto lens pointing directly at the sun without any really strong NDs or a solar filter. Lasers are a different matter though, they damage the sensor really quickly regardless of what lens you have on the camera due to the intensity of the pinpoint laser beam shining directly on to the sensor. Thanks for watching 👍

An 80's kid with a magnifying glass and some ants, but we won't go into that. HAHA!! Thanks for the great videos! I just found these and I am subscribing. I am a newish photographer and I love night/astrophotography/low light photography. Thanks for the great content!

Haha! You’re the first to comment on that!! It made me chuckle when I was editing this...I’m not sure where that one came from!! 😆👍 Awesome! Night and astrophotography is good fun isn’t it! I had a go on a star tracker last weekend which was awesome...so once the milkyway core shows itself this year, I’ll be doing a few tutorials on that and more astrophotography tutorials. 😁👍

@@mikesphotography It is a lot of fun! It is truly amazing to take a picture at night and then look at the shot in LightRoom. I took some long exposure landscape shots during the lunar eclipse a few weeks ago and I have to point out the starts to people to prove it is a night shot. I got a star tracker last year but I haven't used it yet. I live in Seattle so clear nights are kind of rare. I am planning to travel a bit this summer for astrophotography so I look forward to tutorials on the tracker! Thank you!
