The whole hobby started with a dungeon. I started with dungeons. My advice to beginners is to start with the PCs at the door to a mapped location, with a clear understanding of what they want to do there. This is how you learn the rules and learn to hear players declare actions and use rules and your own brain to decide what happens. Do that for a few weeks. *Then* move on to the other stuff.

Great video. Agree with 4 or 5 max players. One time I visited my family in another state and they wanted me to run a one shot. There were 8 or so family and close friends who wanted to play. How could I say no to family and friends? Was definitely dragging at first. But ended up working out ok, as about half the people couldn't stay long anyways.
