I got Inkarnate last year for designing maps for my TTRPG because of your videos and absolutely love it! I somehow had no clue a 2.0 was even coming so this is some very welcomed & exciting news that I thankfully didn’t have to wait! 😬 Great video & guide as always good sir! 😊🙌

A lot of folks are saying they had no idea 2.0 was a thing. I wonder if everyone had the same attitude as me and just decided not to talk about it until it arrived because they didn't want their content to be immediately out of date 😅

You couldn't paint over the texture of that room because the entire room is a stamp/path object sitting on top of the background. You were able to paint over the background with the yellow because you were painting over the background. That is why the yellow looked like it was being painted under the room stamp object. When you paint using the Top option it always is on top of everything and will affect all layers. You need to understand the difference between stamps and foreground/background texture painting. They are very different. 12:39

It’s interesting to hear how you switched from Dungeondraft and went into using Inkarnate while I did the complete opposite just a few days ago

Cool video, always like watching Inkarnate videos. As for the mentioning of the grid scaling and the textures not aligning, I'd assume that's a limitation of how they do resolution and grid sizes. What I mean by this is a 40x30 grid and a 20x15 grid map at 4k are still both 3840 x 2160 pixel maps, the squares are just bigger or small on the same resolution canvas. Due to this with the textures it's probably not possible to extremely hard to have a texture image work out the size of the square pattern on it to the size of the grid being placed on the same resolution, if that makes sense? If their model was to have a fixed grid square be say 200 dpi, like all the Forgotten Realm assets are, then the resolution of each map could be scaled with how many gid squares. However, they don't, we have a fixed resolutions, so limited in that way. At least this is how my brain see's it. I open to being corrected though.

It’s seriously surpassed all the other map makers out there. The snapping stuff alone is absolutely amazing.

I believe it's on a phased rollout, so not everyone has it yet.
