Hey Michael & Taxi Rockstars! It was such a pleasure doing this interview / episode with you. I'm glad it was well-received, and people were able to see past my sleeveless nutcracker sweater, hahahaha. Thanks Michael, for everything you do for Taxi members and the music community at-large. Words simply can't express how grateful I am for you and the company you created.

Sayin' Hey! from Arizona. Stay safe. --FYI on where I've been: I've been playing piano live since the pandemic. I should go back to the Road Rally sometime to listen to everyone play. The fact that the convention is just awesome on its own is often minimized by the music library owners since they want you to be talking to them instead of kicking back at the open mics. Forget my career, if I hadn't gone to the Road Rally, I'd have never seen Streetlight Cadence!, and I have no idea why they were never famous. Best! 😎🍀❤

Thanx Mike and Matt... This was Gold!... One of the better TaxiTV's I have seen. Matt is direct, down-to-earth, tells it like it is, and is an inspiration. Several things he said will change my whole approach to this thing. I finally feel like I "get it"...

I am a strong believer (and knower) - some of us are here for the technical side of music. The other, is more intuitive and heart-led. My opinion? Follow your heart ❤️
@TaxiIndependentAR5 күн бұрын
You can follow your heart, and still create music that's got value for the industry. They're not necessarily mutually exclusive.

40:50 This is a huge reason why this sync industry is broken. If music editors want to use a variation of a musical theme then they should use a different cue file, not find/edit/cut/paste a different segment of sound from the same cue. i.e. If music editors want 20-25 seconds in a particular texture then the track should be 20-25 seconds long, in multiple files with textural variation, not 90-120 seconds long. What a stupid operation they do and require, chopping up a long track to find only the 20-25 second textural variation they want of the same music, thus forcing musicians to put in completely artificial edit-points into a long track to separate the track's 8-bar variations.
